Default Valley & Octopus Hoses

Does any one have part numbers for the valley and octopus hoses. I know the valley is leaking, but does it seem wise to take care of the octopus hose while I'm at it? I've been chasing coolant leaks for a while and I'm getting sick of it, so hopefully this would cure it for good (there aren't many more left to replace

That's interesting I know I've read some posts where folks have listed them (pending what year is a issue and type 8/r). Got me thinking though of a sticky for the common maint items that would have 'all' the parts listed for that repair. Aways to be checked but it would be a great starting / pricing point. Then there could be links back to the DIY instructions.

I idled away some of my lunch hour looking these up, then found Fulton's post:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e3/#post881033

..which lists them..

Octopus & valley parts are OK, but you might want to re-check the TB gasket as the TB changed from the earliest cars.
NCA3016BB is given as the inlet manifold gasket (& JEPC agrees), but sure I've seen an AJ part # for that.

You may also need a tee piece NNE3944BA and the part-load breather willl probably fall apart (mine did).

Have some clean paper towels and antiseptic cream handy.

Well I did the valley hoses today. While it wasn't a fun project, it wasn't too terribly bad. The disappointing part is, while they were bad, they were not the source of my leak. I did uncover the problem though in the process. When I replaced the thermostat housing with the aluminum upgrade, I didn't think to replace the o-rings on the water outlet pipe (all the other o-rings were in the kit). They didn't look bad at the time, but must not have been in right to begin with and disturbing them caused them to leak (they look like they had seeped onto the mounting surface and were holding things apart instead of flush). I'm not sure how I didn't notice this before I tore into things, but that's how it goes. Of course, living in the sticks, nobody had any o-rings that would work (I tried looking for Lincoln LS/retro T-bird parts to see if anyone had anything I could compare with, but no luck there). So now I've got some new o-rings on order (C2C11477010 if anyone is wondering) and hopefully this will be the end of my coolant issues for a bit. I suppose the octopus hose is going to go next, but I wasn't ambitious enough to preemptively conquer that one.

Oh yeah, to go back to the beginning, this is what I ended up with for valley hose parts:
1 x NCA3945CD Heater Feed Hose
1 x NNE3946CA Heater Return Hose
8 x AJ83356 Inlet Manifold Seal
1 x NCA3015BA Inlet Manifold Seal (didn't end up using this since I ended up being able to keep the induction elbow attached to the intake manifold and actually didn't have to mess with removing fuel lines this way either, just tilted the intake assembly in place)
1 x NNE3021AC Throttle Body Gasket

It would be better if you changed the crossover pipe, they also fail. And they come with the temp. sensor installed and new o-rings.

Check out British Parts UK they had the best prices I found when doing my cars. shipping takes a week which is fast from UK . make sure to get the hose connector NNE3944BA as it will most likely snap off when removing it. they sell a complete hose kit HK041 HK040 hope this helps jrb53

RJ237,
Is there a replacement metal version for that, or do you just get a new plastic one? Have a part number handy by any chance? AJ85885 ?
