An 06 XKR coupe, with 42k silver over black, did 18,600 today at Manheim NJ.

Will he get more on the private market sure... BUT, I think the numbers being kicked around are on the high side, EVEN by the dealer willing to trade it.

Take care,

George

The only way it's going to bring anywhere near where you want it to be is if we register the car in a collector car auction. I was just at the AC collector car auction and people were paying some stupid $$$ for stuff. Seems like that's the right venue for something like this. Especially if we can place it right where it's one of the "cheap" cars of the day.

Pm me for details.

Take care,

George

Hi,
Are you sure you want to be without this great car, even if you only use it a couple of times a year.

If you really do decide to sell it, dont accept anything less than you really want for it. someone will be prepared to pay a premium for such a genuine and low milage car.

Good Luck

I would look at Mecum's or one of the bigger collection car auctions. Last year Mecum sold a Silverstone convertible for $25,000 plus commission with more mileage than yours. A friend of mine always buying cars for his collection at many of the different big name auctions if he wants the car he'll pay a premium for it.

What do you think it should list for?

Thank you.

Default Oscar Wilde

As the late great Oscar Wilde once penned, "A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing."

I have decided to keep this Jaguar Silverstone XKR in the family. It is no longer for sale.

Thank you all for your input and help. Cheers!

There are so many variables when you get into the collector car market. Two cars that literally were built on the same day can have huge value differences even in equal conditions.

On the plus side is that it is low milage and is a silverstone.

On the negative side is that it is a pre 4.2

What is the color combo? Makes a big difference

Where will you sell the car?

The highest value from these cars will come from 4.2 xkr coupes.

At 90K total units built attrition is on the cars side.

From a collector perspective attrition would include modified units.

Congrats on deciding to keep it. Now do the right thing and actually drive and enjoy it instead of having it sit unused.

To get that top dollar, you're gonna need to find a collector looking specifically for that model. A lot of these cars have insane prices on them, but many also don't sell for those insane prices. Like someone else said, it's only worth what someone else is willing to pay and it may take a while to find the right buyer. Or you could list it with one of the popular auto auctions and put a high reserve on it so you don't lose your *** on it.

Please post some pics. I have two friends, one in California and one in Texas that would be interested.

Dealers often make more money on used cars than new ones. A dealer offering you 16k, will hope to sell it for 20K. Try to sell it as a private party, you'll do much better.
Thanks and good luck.

$15,000 to $16,000. You might get more, but you'll be waiting forever for the right buyer. It seems like everyone wants the 2003 and up because its a better car.
