Default video uploading

I realise this is not a mechanical issue, but i took a video on my camera of the state of tension on my timing chains, in the hope someone could give me the thumbs up ( or down ) as to whether they were ok, so i could start putting things back together.

But i couldn't upload it.

The video was only 5 minutes worth, but totalled 400mb.
Max file size for jpg states 9.54 mb, but my video is AVI format.

A quick search in this forum and the photography section on video upload requirements, hasn't come up with anything.

Video options on the camera say either PAL or NTSC, but on PAL it comes out as AVI.

I haven't tried NTSC because i've never heard of it.

Theres a compact mode at a res of 160 instead of 640, but the video results are terrible quality.

Can anyone put me straight please?

you tube has no file size limits, thats good. Just have to register for a new account, who knows what happens to that email address though. I have free photobucket account also that I upload 'smaller' videos to, at least that's more controllable. Give them a shot.

NTSC is the North American equivalent of PAL. As for the video, I agree with H2Oboy, You Tube or Photo Bucket.

Thanks for the advice H20boy.

I've been on photobucket for the last 3 hours trying to upload the file, but it appears to be restricting the upload to dial up speed (30-35kbs).

For a 440mb file that's 36 hours worth of constant connection.

Rebooting the router and the computer has made no difference.

I'll have to try something else.

Thanks to mjlaris also for the NTSC/PAL info.

Just checked out youtube, but the terms and conditions would take all night to read through.... jesus.

Do i assume by your comment they assume ownership of your email address H20boy, or the right to use it in any way they see fit?

The amount of info floating around about people, gathered either by consent or not, is bound to culminate in mass criminal fraud or something at some point.

Makes me wonder where things are headed.

But that's another subject altogether lol.
