Thanks for the advice, Gus. The good thing is, there is no active leak. I wouldn't even be sharing this question if it wasn't for the dealer saying to replace the hose based on an oil drip complaint. The latch seems to operate correctly, so for right now there's nothing to "replace". I'll keep an eye on it, and if I get another drop of oil through the grille, I'll open it up again and see where the source is.

Hi Rev

Do you still supply these resistor assemblies? I have a paypal account so that would be how I would handle the payment. Email me wcnejn@***.net with the info on instructions on payment. I also sent you a message regarding the knee bolster removal due to it being loose at the top left side and found that the metal piece that mounts to the dash was missing on that side. I am hoping that it is a clip on type and not welded to the dash. If it is a clip on do you have any idea on where to find them?

Thanks to Dennis selling me the rsiste and Revrend Sam and Dennis instructions even a novice like me install this fix, The top works great, thanke to all the folks that post here. I bought my XK8 in December of 2011 and because of these post saved hundreds of dollars and enjoyed fixing up my 2000 XK8 - The cylindar do not appear to be weeping from undue pressure anymore, I have used Reverend Sam's videos to replace the upper tensioners and the center console leather cover. Thanks!!

Hi Sam

I posted you a couple of days ago about getting these resistor assemblies. Do you still have them available? Please send me an email wcnejn@***.net and let me know. I will probably need two one for my XK8 and one for the XKR

I'd love to get my hands on one of these as well. Sam if you get around to making any more please put me on the list.

And thank you for all the effort you've put into making them!

I don't know if sam is going to be making these or not, if you go back to post #132 you will find details of how to do it yourself, or if you don't feel comortable with that you could take the info to a local electronics shop and have them do it.

It's already public, so I think OK to say here, that Rev Sam has some health issues to deal with right now. I know he is not currently making kits.

JohnSly, Wcnesta: feel free to send a PM if you feel I can help (but I do not have kits to sell either).

Edit: I can PM now. =)

Hello! I'm new enough to not be able to PM yet. Would someone please PM the Rev with my information so that I can buy a resistor for my convertible top? TIA!

Reverend Sam sold his XK8 last week and apparently has no plans to make any additional kits. I asked to purchase a kit a month or so ago, but it didn't happen....
