Welcome after a long break. Many of you have written to me private messages about the problem. I'll have try tackled the problem again and all of the subject I wrote on blog www.jaguar.org.pl entry which I run along with my colleague. The problem could also be due to the wrong setting of the timing valve timing. You must re-download the chain and check its setting. A blog is Polish, but has the ability to integrate an interpreter. Default VVT Problem

Hello,
I have a 2001 Jaguar xj8 4.0L I recently changed the timing chains guides and tensioners. After that, The car runs pretty good until 500 miles. Now the checking light comes on with code p-1396. The car starts stalling and on the dashboard indicates safe mode. If I turn the car off and wait one minute and turn the car back on again, the car starts running well again until again like 40 minutes later. The scanner indicates the VVT Solenoid bank 2. I replaced the solenoid and the problem is still the same. When I scan on Live data and the car is running good the duty cycle indicates 11.8% and when the car starts running rough the duty cycle indicates 40%. Please, anybody with advice is welcome. When I replaced all the timing components except the VVT actuator seals. I am thinking maybe I am losing oil pressure on the right bank VVT actuator??
