We have big rain and almost strom like here in San Francisco Bay area couple days ago. after the rain I noticed that there are lots of water on the inside of the lens, so I've checked on the weather seal of that headlamp and found that the weather seal isn't really attached to the lamp's housing anymore on some spot. now my question is, is this a easy job that I could reseal the weather strip myself, or is this gonna be a job that I should take it to a local Jag shop or any bodyshop to have taken care of, and if this is something easy to do it yourself. anyone can give me a detail on how to take out the lens or may be the whole headlamp housing.
Help!!!! Please!!!!!
Cause it dosen't look cool driving a cat with tears in one of her eye.

In California, on my 97 XK8, I just left the top covers off. Just drilling a hole and putting a vent in there did not solve the problem with condensation, it just made it clear up a little more quickly.
They did something to later models that prevents condensation, not sure what, but my 05 XKR never gets condensation.

No, no, no. Don't take it to the dealer. They'll hit you up for a new headlight.
It seems as if the fix is to drill a hole in the back of the headlight housing, and glueing a 90 degree PVC elbow into the headlight pointing down. You should be able to find something on this website under the Tags--headlights.
I wouldn't think it's much of a challenge to undertake.

I took my lens off to clean it because of the same problem. I removed the entire assembly which was not difficult once I found all the bolts. The seal appears to be a RTV type product and that is what I used to reattach the lens. Be careful of the 'chromed' reflective surface. Do not attempt to clean it as mine just wiped off. Fortunately, I saw what was happening and stopped before much damage was done.

I had the factory fix, hole drilled and the plastic T pipe.
I also keep bags of Desicant (ie what comes out of electrical appliance packaging). I put it in the back of the casing by the bulb connectors in a top taken from an aerosol can.
Then just reheat the bags, in an oven, once a year, or if condensation appears.
regards

If you check a previous thread. All you have to do is loosen the access cover on the top of the headlight housing. I put mine in so the rear part of the cover is open a touch and the front part is seated a little. I added some black duct tape to the front seated area incase rain water gets splashed in through the grill. Two days and the condensation cleared up and never came back. Jack
