Water Tank recovery vs. Coolant reservoir

Water Tank recovery vs. Coolant reservoir
on 2000 XKR- do you fill the cooling system from the coolant reservoir on top of the engine or by the overflow recovery tank. Since the sensor it in the reservoir, I am guessing that it where you care about the level and by the way, where exactly is the overflow recovery tank hiding.
Thanks

Now where do you fill the cooling system from- the overflow or the reservoir where the level sensor is? Is the overflow tank just merely that- an overflow tank. Does the system draw water from the overflow tank at any point? What type of pressure does the overflow tank operate under- system pressure or atmospheric pressure.

You fill the reservoir and then the pressure cap takes care of everything from there.
Coolant is recovered from the overflow tank to the reservoir due to the vacuum created by the cooling engine. Sometimes, with older hoses, the vacuum can be strong enough to collapse the upper radiator hose.

Thanks. So is that a difference between the XK8 and the XKR both location f sensor and how they are filled?
