Wayne Tate Poly Upper Mounts, 2K miles later
Update on wear or lack of it on Wayne's Poly Mounts. Both Gianni and I agreed to test the Poly Mounts developed by Wayne. Evidently Gianni's roadways were HARSH and a severe test. The roads in southern TN and N. Al are probably good to above average. Inspected the mounts this AM for any evidence of movement in the tower location, NONE DETECTED. Some may remember, we disassembled the shocks assembly 2-3 times to achieve the correct ride height with relatively new springs. Some of the mods we tested were not continued in Wayne's kits due to our research. The bottom spring mount, spacers and plastic seat for bottom of spring were left as Jaguar engineered. The metal Hat sitting on top of the spring was re used since no wear. Wayne's large poly cushion and Upper Clam Shell ( 3 designs of this part have surfaced with minor differences) plus a 1/8" Poly? Cushion or Pad were installed to complete the assembly on each side. The Poly Pad or Cushion isolated the Steel Clam Shell from the Shock Tower. This addition raised our ride height (we were a few MM Short) and provided extra cushion to isolated any road vibration. The Ride height was restored back to spec. and over the 2K miles, no abnormal tire wear was noticed. This was a visual inspection and not verified by a measuring tool. Past experience with Energy Suspension Poly parts indicate their durability and longevity should provide a long lasting solution to the expensive and less durable OEM and other A/M parts for replacements on our X-100 Cars. We continue to observe the performance of these mounts and will report back after a another extended time period.

Kelly. thank you for keeping us informed about the wear and tear on these parts.
Right now Steve (Baxtor) is continuing to add more effort to newer products and we should see better lower bushings than my efforts of the too thicker ones.
Don't know if we can keep the cost down, as the shipping from Australia, will add a few dollars, if we can get Steve some compensation for all his efforts.
Right now we all know it's experimental, but I do believe we have something that will last a bunch longer than what is on the market.
Every time I put one together, I feel much better about our efforts.
Thanks too all who give it their time and expense.

I'll bring some REAL BBQ. NY style(duck!!)

Sorry, but "real BBQ New York style" is merely a contradiction in terms. We are the kings of BBQ here in Piedmont North Carolina. Wayne and I will jump into a knock-down drag-out street brawl with anyone who wants to argue with us about that....
Speaking of XK8 / XKR get-togethers, we planned one at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer (where Wayne lives) for October 2020 but the Covid-19 pandemic put an end to it. A couple of very challenging health issues that Wayne fought valiantly to beat (prostate cancer in 2021 / 2022, hip replacement surgery in early 2023) kept us from resurrecting the idea. Maybe we can finally do it in October 2024 if Wayne and his lovely wife Christine are up to it. There was quite of bit of interest in this get-together from forum members all over the east coast, and even forum members from Canada and the U.K. had hoped to attend. We figure if it had actually happened, between 40 and 50 members along with their significant others would have joined us. It would have been one hell of a weekend in Spencer for all....

Geeez Jon, You might as well insulted everyone's religion, politics and sexual matters. All the things you shouldn't are argue about in polite public. :^) Then there's BBQ!
Let's see, folks from Texas, Kansas, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky are up in arms as we speak. LOL I'm sure I just insulted some by not mentioning them.
The joke is on ALL of them as OHIO, no I'm just kidding. It's all good to me, I love it all and all the varying styles. Just keep it coming.
Sorry to hijack the subject, I couldn't stop myself. Best wishes to all and happy holidays no matter what variation fits you!!! TM
