Am always turning on the wipers when I’m turning the ignition switch.
That might be just me as I don’t recall anyone else having that happen.

PS most all of these aforementioned “faults” have been mentioned on this forum for years. And were part of my decision to go ahead and buy my 2002 XKR regardless. The known (fixable) faults such as the tensioners, water pump, etc had already been addressed by previous owners so I jumped in the water with eyes wide open.
Been having a blast ever since, seven years and counting.

I've got the fob on a carabiner which I can separate from the key when driving. I place the fob in the tray in between the coin slots. That way the dangling fob doesn't touch my legs.

It's the fob isn't it that changed and isn't compatible with the flip fob? If anyone wants to check which fob they have, the later fobs use one CR2032 battery, the early ones use 2x CR2016 batteries.
I wonder if anyone has gone one step further and swapped the earlier fob internals over to the switchblade type fob.

Would appreciate a better angle on the spicer u-joints' grease fittings.
Still really like the car, zero complaints.

1. Putting in a lifetime maintenance free transmission, that needs service andthat is a PITA.
2. Absolutely zero access to the fuel pump.
3. Having to cut a hole in the truck to service the rear differential
4. The design of the upper shock mounts.
Give me a minute and I am sure I can come up with a few more.

Not sure this is an engineering flaw, but putting chrome door handles on these cars doesn't really work out in the Texas heat. With temperatures around 100F/ 38C, they threaten to take off the top layer of skin when parked outside for any length of time. Ask me what made me think of this.
I guess it never occurred to the UK team as I recently saw an article saying the recent 80F/27C heat wave was plaguing London.

This, the same thing happens in PR, all year long. If the car was out in the sun any period of time before I open the door, I better use a glove or my shirt to open it. Otherwise, it’s a 3rd degree burn.
Also, 80°F is laughable for a heat wave. That’s just a balmy autumn day here.
