Suggestion: if you don't know what generation of secondary tensioners you are running, ask them to pull a cam cover and take a look. Anything earlier than 3rd generation (aka metal body) is potentially lethal. If one of these comes apart, and they do, it can take out the whole motor.
If you find you have an earlier version, you might get a price from them to do the upgrade or come back here where there's lots of help available should you choose to do the job yourself.
Parts = a few hundred $$; a good price for them to do the job ... I forget, but something between $1k and $2k, I'm pretty sure.
Good luck,

From the mechanics that I have talked with they consider the 60K service the most critical for vehicles. I have been told that all fluids should be changed, brake, PS, trans, diff., etc. Serpentine belts, general tune up items, plugs, filters (fuel, air). The vehicle has been driven for 8 years and 60K. That is a lot of time and miles on mechanical components, fluids, belts, etc. That is why I think this advice is solid.
I'm sure someone will chime in with the exact maintenance schedule for your model, but my feeling is that it should be the kitchen sink method.
Also, you might want to have the suspension bushings checked. These vehicles seem to be pretty hard on the bushings, and by all reports, I think that you will find that most of them are showing some significant wear. You will find out what it is like to drive a new car again if you replace them.

Hey Kip,
I've been researching this same thing for my 2001 XKR, except I'm going in for 40,000 mile service. Since it has been so many years, I'm opting to get just about everything done. I've attached the Vehicle Maintenance Sheet that most probably relates to your vehicle. Check it against the VIN Range in the upper right corner. It says Model Year 2001, but I think it covers 2002 also because the next option (from the JTIS system) is for the 4.2 L v8 in 2003.
I'm having the following done:
Oil Change, Filter, Lube (Mobile 1 Synthetic 5w30) $47 for 8 qts oil (Walmart), $8 for filter.
Brake fluid flush & fill ($129 from dealer)
Coolant flush & fill ($160 from dealer)
Supercharger belt replacement (belt was $90 from some website)
I may need the serpentine belt replaced (dealer will check it). Recommended replacement at 100K miles, but after 9 years, it might be due.
Spark plug replacement (attempting this myself, dealer wanted $400 for parts and labor). I found the plugs on Amazon for $4.40 each. NGK IFR5N-10.
Obviously check your brakes and air filter. A new Spectre or K&N filter is less than $50.
Hope this helps!
