I wouldn't be seen within 20 feet of that abomination. Not even looking at it.

When I see something like this I remind myself of the relatively low production numbers and the normal rate of attrition. I then remind myself to be very cautious with any mods and the thankful position someone may find themselves in 13 years from now when, with any luck, the car is 23 years old and has aged into a collector/classic

Thumbs down

"There is no other Jag like this ANYWHERE!"

I do hope so.

What makes people do hideous things to something that was near perfect to start with?

Looks like they spent some $$$ on this mistake. Ostrich seats? I guess this is what happens when you have more money than style.

a really high home made wing bolted to the trunk (haha)
that would just about complete the package

Sounds like he is going to paint it. I bet it ends up bright pink or maybe purple--if they are going for subtle style!

Read the post. The car comes with a high wing. It's in the pic with the top down. Now you have no reason not to buy it:^)

I guess we really should keep an album or gallery of pimped up...oops, I mean "customized" XK8/XKRs.

Interesting that the wing only appears with the top down. You don't suppose that's another pimp-up, oh sorry, "customization"? (No I don't really think that either...)

The hood scoops have some charm... I still like the Speed Racer cartoon

Makes me appreciate even more my recent lucky find (see signature below). Near mint gem. Will keep it original (save, perhaps for some fully reversible radio tweaks). Agree about potential classic car element. As I posted in my thread about finding my new Jag

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...so-fast-70772/

... the car is 12 years old. It seems just about 5000 XKR (pre 07) coupes made it to the USA, in 7 years (2000-2007). Mine is a first year (in USA) XKR. I watch Velocity and at the auctions 'better' old cars appear in this number (or more) from single year production. Yeah, i know old collectables weren't hoarded as much as today's would-be-collectables, but I still have a suspicion that in ten or twenty years, intact superb original XKR coupes will have collector demand. And, yeah, attrition rate. We see parts-out cars even on this forum. Who knows how many are not mentioned here.

I know... I'm unduly fond of me wee Growler...

If that's the hottest car in town maybe it's time to relocate?

Kind of the opposite of my favorite tease around these parts, "St. Matthews... one of the nicest neighborhoods in Louisville. No trailer parks, no GM dealers."

Too much JC Whitney and not enough common sense.

It's a shame that someone doesn't appreciate what a beautiful car they already had.

Lets just say that:

"The Styling is unlikely to find favor from those who are blessed with the Gift of Sight".
