What is a normal amount of driveline lash?
I was doing the rear brakes yesterday and noticed that I could turn the wheel a couple of degrees before the slack in the driveline would take up. Through a 3:1 multiplier, that translates into a good deal of play at the drive shaft (at least it seems like a lot to me).
Watching and listening, there is very little in the diff and almost all of it is where the drive shaft meets the transmission.
There are no leaks, no strange noises and as I can recall, nothing has changed since I got the car with respect to the various clunks the transmission makes coming to stop.
Since it hasn't changed in quite a few miles I'm not TOO worried about it but does that sound more or less typical?
