What tires do you run on your XK?

I've been very happy with Hancook's Ventus V12 EVO (i think they're called). Been very quiet, even wearing, sticky-when-I-need-it-to-be, tires. I did a writeup on it here, but need to update it soon with my 'tread' watch numbers. ![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I have the "standard" Pirelli's on my 20" Montreal wheels. They are still in pretty good shape but I know that (1) their tread wear rating is among the lowest and (2) their price is among the highest. Because of this combination, I am already thinking about what my replacement will be once the time comes. The last time I bought performance tires (on my 1995 Corvette), the tire dealer I used convinced me to try BridgeStone Potenza's rather than the Goodyear GSC's that came on the car. The price was much less than the Goodyear's and the longevity was much much better.
This experience sold me on considering BridgeStones for the XKR when the time comes. Has anyone else tried these out (TireRack shows the price as being much less than the Pirelli's and the tread ware much better).

I did not like the Potenza's. Even after force balancing them, the had a vibration around 70MPH. They did not ride as good as the Nitto's I have now.
I was originally gonna get the Hankook's, but met somebody that had the Nitto's that had tried the Hankooks. He told me the Hankook's wore out quickly, and also had good things to say about the Nitto's.

My favorites were the firestone Fuzion tires. I put those on my '98 XK8 and they replaced the stock Pirelli's. The fuzions felt better, stuck better, wore better and were only around $100/17" tire back then. I was still looking for better wear, since it was my daily driver and I tried General Exclaim's next. They were OK for regular driving, but didn't give the performance of the Fuzions and I think the wear was pretty similar. Now I have an '05 R with 20" stock pirellis. They are about shot and I'm thinking about trying Kumho. Their reviews on TireRack have a more perfomance cars like corvettes and such trying them. Some tires have good reviews, but many of them are on a camery or something similar. I'd be open to suggestions.

I drive my XKR year-round and have Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons. I went a bit wider than stock on the rears - 245/45/18 Front and 275/40/18 Rear - lower ratio keeps diameter about the same. Tire Rack rates these as great all around tires with good tread life. They're a lot stickier than the 8-year old Continentals that were on the car when I bought it. I've had them for about a 18 months now and I'm really happy with the performance and road noise level.

I have had Yokohama Advan S4s on my car for the past 10k miles and they have been excellent. Tire wear has been minimal, the ride quiet and performance first rate. I was so pleased with the Advan S4s on my 2005 XKR that I had Yokohama Prada SpecX tires put on my 2009 Honda CRV and they have also been excellent.

On my wifes 2000 XKR we are running the Michelin Pilot Sport and they have been quiet and smooth and solid handling (for anything we need anyway) at all speeds (and over 200kph+). Way nicer and quieter than the Goodyear Forteras I run on our Escalade and Jimmy.
We didn't buy them, they came on the car when we bought it. In fact they are the Pilot Sports on the front but the previous owner put the Pilot Sport A/S (all season) on the rear. I never even noticed this until I went to confirm what tires we were running.
So far I would be happy to replace with the same tire.
Rear: 255/45ZR18 MIchelin Pilot Sport A/S
Front: 245/45ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport
Cheers,
Mark
