What would a part out on a 65k XK8 net?
Any thoughts on what a part out would net on a 1998 65k xk8? Everything is functional.

Probably two or three times what it is worth, especially in Hawaii It's a coupe isn't it? It would make other coupes just a little more rarer. Just sit back and take a deep breath, and look at the car. Do you really want to dismantle it? Mine has 80,000 and doesn't give me that much trouble. You've probably have most everything taken care of by now.

Say it ain't so!
Our beloved original 2009 XK8 coupe had 137k miles when we were forced to replace it due to a crash caused by another driver.

The 2009 XK8 coupe was my daily driver: 98 miles RT home-work-home, four days a week. My wife originally found it through eBay and it had less than 38k on the clock when we bought it. So I drove it for nearly 100k miles with only a few repairs along the way (O2 sensors replaced, throttle body cleaned, plugs/plug wires and other minor stuff. The most expensive part of driving the coupe was keeping it in tires and paying for gas/parking in Portland, OR. It was getting to be time for secondary tensioners, other engine work and a nice paint job when I was wrecked by an idiot who turned into my lane.
The "new" 2000 XK8 convertible had 9,816 miles on the clock when we bought it two months ago in Portland. We are the third owner. The second owner drove the car less than 1,200 miles in the nearly six years she stored it in her heated, carpeted garage.
I'm now taking the train to work instead of racking up the miles on what is essentially a practically new, 11 year-old XK8. Go figure.

Same situation for me, 97 with only 70,000 miles, California car, some minor accidents, but mostly in pretty good shape. I don’t think my HOA would be to happy if I parted it out in my driveway though 😂

An 11 year old thread and the OP hasn't been on the forum in over 4 years. The topic is always relevant but time renders the contemporaneous replies redundant. A discussion of parting out a similar vehicle all these years later justifies a new thread.
