What is your exhaust setup? I think the sound is very subdued.

It's color, Zircon. It reminds me of the color "Opalescent Silver Blue" that was very popular on E-Types during the 1960's. I could hardly dream of owning one then, but my Zircon coupe reminds me of one every time I look at it.

Ditto!

I uploaded a video to YouTube that shows how our dream car of the 60's was reborn as the bucket-list car we were finally able to own...

A close second is the surge and whine of the supercharger when overtaking on a two-lane state highway. A close third is the way the auto-wipers always know exactly the speed I want them to run from moment to moment. A close fourth is the buttery smooth steering in the parking lot that transforms into aggressive steering on the road. A close fifth...

The XKR's are just downright purdy as they say in the south. Its a timeless design that will be popular for a long long time.

My wife's XK8 turns heads daily when she drives it, and its an 2001 model. Me driving does not turn as many heads, can't understand why.

What a way to get a kid hooked on a decent car. Great stuff.

As everyone else says, just the way it looks - especially from the front, low down (hence my signature photo).

But, that feeling as it accelerates through 50mph on a country back road as it clings to the asphalt.....

Finally, I love the automatic wipers. They judge the wiper speed perfectly, and I wish I had them in every other vehicle I owned!

I don't have an "R" but perhaps I can assert my favorite feature about the XK. The exterior styling is the number one reason I wanted one. The front end, with the headlights, grille, and hood lines all coming together, when viewed at the right angle reminds me of an Aston Martin. I have always had a soft spot for Aston Martins, and one day will probably own one, so this is my "budget" Aston for the time being.

The other day I had to step on the gas, HARD, to get around another driver who decided to change his mind about where he was going at the very last minute. We were under an overpass at the time.

Listening to the roar of the supercharged exhaust echoing under the bridge made me realize that this isn't a quiet car at all! The sound all comes out the back and I normally can't here it. The sound was really quite impressive. Normally it sounds so tame to me even with the top down.

I have a friend who owns a Bugatti and could easily own an Aston and when he saw my XKR, the first thing he said was, "it looks just like an AM", and when I told him how much i paid, he just smiled and said, Well Played, sir"

My favorite thing is that my XKR appears to be leak free (knocking on every piece of wood in the Mid-Atlantic).
