What's the mileage on your ZF 6HP gearbox ???

Approaching 114,000 miles on my wife's 2006 XK8, and more than 105,000 miles on my 2005 S-Type. Both vehicles have had two ATF drain-and-fills each (using Mercon SP ATF which meets the required Shell M1375.4 specs). Both ZF units continue to perform normally....
No way to speculate on how long these ZF units will last. Too many variables involved including whether or not they receive the proper maintenance....

I have a 2003 XK8 4.2 which has 145,000 on the clock just now but I had the fluid + filter/sump replaced just over a year ago at 140,000. Fluid was probably original (I imagine) and came out like black thick soup!
My ZF6HP26 has the annoying harsh gear changes from time to time...but not always. Fluid change didn't help. I just viewed these superb videos on youtube from Gary Ferraro from the US and here he renovates a 6HP26 from an S Type and BMW... and it shows the complexity of these transmissions and what can go wrong with them.
After toying with the idea of giving it a go myself...I think that after watching these videos...I have well and truly changed my mind and may well go for a reconditioned unit...all of a sudden you can see where all the money goes!
PS...I hope it's ok to post these videos...if not then apologies and Moderators feel free to remove them...Thanks

I have 108,000 on my 2005 XJR.
I did a complete flush, filter, and mechatronic sleeve replacement at around 103,000.
Used Lifeguard 6. My reasoning was that I do not have to do another flush for 60k and the Lifeguard 6 bought on Ebay for a reasonable price was well worth the peace of mind.
I drive somewhat aggressively and no problems, touch wood, with the tranny.

Is all still working well with the transmission regarding harsh shifts etc. ?
Mine has the same symptoms and I'd be interested to know if I should go down the same path.
Many thanks

Andrew,
I have had the ZF 6HP26 transmission adaptations procedure performed twice on my wife's 2006 XK8. Once in July 2013 at 68,000 miles when she began complaining of harsh upshifts from 2 to 3, and again in April 2016 at 101,500 miles when she began complaining about the same issue. Her car has just passed 114,000 miles and is shifting normally. I employed the same Jaguar dealership for the procedure both times because I trust their two long-time techs and their service manager always gives me an attractive deal because he appreciates the fact that I am willing to drive to him from so far away. That dealership is a 75-mile one-way drive for me as opposed to a 25-mile one-way drive to my local dealership whom I have not trusted for years now....
I switched to Mercon SP ATF in this ZF 6HP26 in April 2016 shortly before the second procedure was done. I did another Mercon SP ATF drain-and-fill in November 2016 at 106,000 miles just to ensure that the vast majority of the ATF in this ZF 6HP26 was relatively fresh Mercon SP. I do not anticipate having to do another Mercon SP ATF drain-and-fill for a long time because my wife is now down to driving only 6,000 to 7,000 miles per year in this car. Prior to her retirement she was driving close to 20,000 miles per year in this car....
If you opt to pay someone to do this procedure, ensure that the facility you select is very familiar with it and has performed it multiple times before. To properly set my expectations with my chosen dealership, I printed TSB JTB00145 and gave them a copy when I met with the service manager to drop off the car for the procedure both times....
Good luck and let us know if this procedure resolves your issues....

For anyone who is interested - here is a quick link for the adaption procedure (TSB JTB00145) which you can print off and show to your Jaguar Dealer.

My wife's 2006 XK8 now has 123,300 miles and continues to shift as designed. One pan-drop drain-and-fill with a sleeve change in July 2013 using Lifeguard 6, a simple drain-and-fill in April 2016 using Mercon SP, and another simple drain-and-fill in November 2016 using Mercon SP. This car has essentially been a clear-weather year-round toy since late October 2018 and averages around 1,500 miles per year now. It was my wife's daily driver from early February 2012 until late October 2018....
