Dennis,
As a former Brit now living in Houston, Texas, I can assure you that the Vast majority of Americans Love the Brits, particularly if they are like me.
By that, I mean I was born in Barrow-in-Furness where I lived for 30 years, then moved to Blyth, Northumberland for 25 years, so have a Very Broad British accent, which I have retained. Most Americans are almost fighting to talk to me and hear my accent. Although now of Dual Citizenship, would not return to live in England, as I have a deep seated hatred for the "Maggie Thatcher" type government of the past, which coming from a Shipbuilding Family, was all but forced to leave the country I loved at the time.
I too have recently bought a 1999 XJ8 Vanden Plas, my FIRST Jag, and find this Forum fantastic, even over just the last 3 weeks as a member, 2-3 of my problems were resolved by the knowledgable members here.
Americans generally love the Brits. Watch as I can see an apology forthcoming.

One of my favorite shows. I record every one of them. I learn some things watching the show. I love all of the English words, crackin', sorted out, buggered, breaker yard, boot, bonnet, etc.

Edd China has his own business too:
Edd China | Cummfy Banana

I would love to meet those guys sometime!

It is indeed me
And I feel very privileged

Wheeler Dealers chose my car as the "Pristine" to use on the TV program , I spent a day at Longcross Circuit where the car was filmed at speed on the track and lots of stills were taken ,
I am proud to say that my 98 Coupe won " Best XK8/R" at last years XKEC Annual event called "Growler" .
139 XK's attended last years event and pretty much every colour and configuration of XK attended , more than a few (including mine) had been breathed on by the notorious Tony ( XKRacer ) who runs Paragon Design here in the UK , if you want something a bit or a lotdifferent XK wise , he's the main man and no , I'm not on commission LOL ,

All the very best ,

Nik

The XK8 episode is this Tuesday, May 1st on Discovery at 8pm.

I would love to have Edd as a mate, so he could keep my vehicles in good order. I agree Mike Brewer (the short one) can be really annoying with his cockney fruit-seller vocabulary and laughable business sense.

Here is a sneak preview of the programme (yes, it's spelt prograMME )

Can't wait to see the show. I also can't wait to sign the bill of lading to get the winning car over across the pond to my driveway.

Agreed. Edd ripped through those jobs: new throttle body, lowered suspension. I'd love to have him living round the corner!

That decarbonising machine looked great. I must try and get that done to my engine next time I'm over in the UK (it will probably take the French another 5 years to cotton on).

BTW, what happened to the blue XK8 belonging to NikasilNik? Didn't he say it had been photographed by the show's producers to appear on the programme?

Was the trembling hand due to his being scared as he poured the water in, or the vibrations from that 'Got HP' big block?

Anyone know of a garage in the UK that's got one of Edd's decarboniser machines?

love the show never miss it but i was a bit disapointed with last nights showing of the xk8,if you have 10grand to spend and the car cost 6grand why spend 2grand on brake and disc upgrade 400 on back boxes pluss suspention upgrade why not just go for the xkr??the front grill could have easy had a black coat of spry,i would also have paid more attention to the rip in the driver seat and the finished shot at the end i spotted a large scrach on the rear bumper, loved the de carb flush i must admit, still not bad if you could win the comp
