Default Where to buy shocks and parts

I have a 2001 base XKR with 134k that I have done all the soft parts in the front end but I still have a clunk coming from the left front wheel. It looks like the shock might be leaking, just sure though. I want to replace the springs shocks and shock dampeners. I have a CAT system and not really want to spend $350 per shock to replace. Does anyone have a better option? Can anyone rebuild my old ones? Some help would be great. Also any though on where to buy for the best price?

Technically they could be rebuilt but this particular design is a crimped together body which Bilstein says is not servicable so Bilstein won't do it. You would have to find an independent shop willing to take on a challenge and it probably would end up costing more than new. I gave up and bought a set of CATS shocks from Gaudin in Las Vegas.

If you are not interested in keeping the CATS system, you can use standard non-adjustable shocks and unplug the controller in the boot.

There will not be any error messages with it unplugged but it will mean you have to do all 4 shocks at the same time. Although 4 regular shocks are hardly more expensive than 1 CATS shock.

Have you changed the anti-sway bar bushings? They are on the "usual suspects" list for front end clunking. Cheap, and easy to replace.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

Just did mine, shut the front end up. If not those could be sway bar bushings up there with the miles you have on the car.
I could not really find cheaper shocks and springs so I paid the piper to one of the site sponsors for spec ones for the front end.

I replaced all the soft parts in the front end and sway bar links and shock bushings. When I bounce on the fender the shocks seem fine. No excess return bounce back.
