Life has dealt me a cruel hand!

Back from Sanibel. About 600 care free lovely miles all told. Saw a only a few Jags along the way. Only 1 XK8/XKR
As we were preparing for to head out for dinner last night, a fellow visiter came up as I was dropping the top.
"Glad you are lowering the top for me"
"Glad I could help"
"You know that is the most wonderful looking car of all times"
"Thank you, but that would be an XKE"
"Yes you're right, but it wouldn't make the trip"

I wanted to put some miles on the new set of tires so last night my wife and I drove about 150 miles to Epcot Center and back.

We stopped in Disney's version of England

Had some fish and chips for dinner.

Then hung out with Smash Mouth for half hour or so of music.

Last we stopped off in Celebration to have bread pudding and tea at the Columbia restaurant.

Finished the night driving home under the stars in the cool night air. Top down of course!

Drove my truck to Boca Raton Fl. to get a set of rims, for the Jag. from a fellow forum member. Thanks Chris Also went to Key West Fl. for a few days to visit the grandson. Tina did not like the idea of purchasing the rims till she found out that Boca was only about 200 miles from Key West. Now she thinks the rims were greatest investment ever. Love it when a plan come together. Ha

Were you in Key West during Fantasy Fest? I assume it is peaking now with Halloween being tomorrow. My wife and I took an anniversary trip to Key West in late October 1989. We had no idea what Fantasy Fest was until we arrived there. Now that's something we'll never forget, for many reasons....

That's terrifying.

I've just looked out of the window and I think I might actually be living in Disneyland.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, My wife and I love that bridge,(I know that sounds funny). We live in NJ and have gone down to Folly Beach for the last 8 years for vacation. We went to a fair last year in Somerville for a day. We always find a reason to go over your bridge when we are there and talk about retirement somewhere in that area. Don't know if that will happen. Drove down a couple years ago for a long weekend, before I had the XKR to eat Thanksgiving dinner at the Oaks in Charleston.

Jon you are absolutely correct its amazing what can be done with body painting. The best one was the painted g string. When they say anything goes, well! It gives it a new meaning!

Brings to mind the Life Helmet ads from the '70's there was a series but this was my favourite.

Three hundred miles down the A1 Motorway from Durham to Nottingham and back wasn't the most exciting road to drive but the journey was to collect a 2007 XK in PX for my 2005 XK8 4.2-S.

I spent longer in the DVLA office getting my personal registration transferred than it took to drive the car the 150 miles home!

Graham,

Congrats on the new XK. What was your motivation to move to a 2007 model?
