Sanibel causeway for sunset - a favourite. You can just make out the flesh and blood gps in the passenger seat

We went to Firebird raceway on Saturday for a Rockabilly concert, car show and drag races, sorry no pics of that, then down to Tuscon for the night and a visit to the Titan II missile site (pics tomorrow I hope) and on to the Tuscon Air & Space Museum, both well worth a visit if you are close by.

Default Cabo Verde

I love old planes... but of course JFK and LBJ used a jet as AF1.

One of LBJ's 'Air Force 1½' jets returning to Texas - Houston Chronicle

Here's the ridiculously remote island where I was this past month;
however there are definitely no Jaguars of any kind there.
(Mine remained safely at home in my garage.)
So I apologise for my unworthy contribution!

Unusual to see a Brigantine (the US call it an hermaphrodite brig yechh).
Much loved by Mediterranean pirates but I don't recognise the rock.

Wow, I have only ever heard them called Brigantines!

This person elaborates though FWIW:

Rigging of American Sailing Vessels

Hi Norri - do you mean Pima Air and Space Museum? Ooops sorry - did not see the subsequent post - my bad!

BTW - where did you get the one piece grill for the Jag?

Default Fun in the mountains

Apparently I can't embed Youtube video so here is the URL instead ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=bmA3AxQINNg

That's a Ferrari 430 Spyder and an Audi R8 GT in the "rear view mirror". And a couple of BMW M5s somewhere in the distance.

No bicycles were hurt in the making of this video ... no matter how tempting

The grille was on the car when I got it but I believe it is an Adamesh.

Here are the Titan pics as promised, SWMBO took them with her phone so not the best but you get the idea.

Anything to do with rigging of a Brig is a good way to start a fight among sailors, rather like asking the French why two red ice-cream cones stuck together is the sign for a tobacconists.

Default Blood Mountain GA

I took my trip in the way a Grand Tourer is supposed to go:

Half highway / half mountain roads.

Too bad it was only an hour each way! It would have been longer in any other car. haha.

Performance was fantastic on the highway, very comfortable; and in the mountains, it performed like a champ. I wish I could have taken some pics of these wonderful, banked turns as I was driving but Ms. Black would have killed me. Elevation change about 1000 feet. I caught up with some motorcycles on the straightaway but they outpaced me in the turns. O well....

Beautiful woods and great people. Lots of fun.

Dinner at Atlanta Highway Seafood, Gainesville.

A good time was had by all!

Morning appointment in Malibu, CA, today. Cloudless sky, temperature about 20 degrees warmer than the last couple of days at this hour, couldn't resist stopping and taking a picture.

Spring has come to Texas and the bluebonnets are in full bloom. It is the state flower for those who do not know. There was a Bluebonnet Festival in the town of Ennis. The usual street fair event, but fun none the less.

Hard to capture the beauty with a cell phone picture, but imagine several hundred acres of solid bluebonnets mixed with other native wildflowers and you begin to get the idea.

Hope it starts this thread again, it was one of my favorites. Where have you been lately?

Temps are back down in the 40s this morning (I'm loving it and wish it would stay that way throughout the summer). Had to go air up the tires. Exciting, yes?!

Default Wind Farm - Lower North Island, New Zealand

Hi All,

I had the pleasure of driving the 'Saddle Road' today through a forest of wind turbines. The weather was moody but I had wonderful company and loved it.

Here's a link to google maps showing where I was. Zoom in to see the wind turbines - zoom out to see how isolated NZ is from the rest of the world. :-)

Saddle Road, Ashhurst, Manawatu-Wanganui - Google Maps

Looks a great drive. Checking the map, it must count as the furthest distance it's possible to get from the Jaguar factory!

I like the unusual low three quarter rear shot of your XKR.

You are right about the distance from Coventry Graham! Worst case, I hire a rental car for a week or two while parts arrive. I picked a good one so hopefully that wont be necessary.

Thanks for the complement on the shot - my favourite view is from the rear (cough). A random iPhone shot that came out nicely.

Default Denmark

Hi all.

Had a nice trip to Denmark. Drove top down despite only 15C with my new windshot and rear window up mod.
Pictures from Hvedholm Castle at Funen. Recommended.

Blue XK8s and Red XK8s... two great colors I'd trade my black for...maybe...

PS: Just re-read the thread. The rock is Cabo Verde.
