Hello fellow Jaguar Forum members.
I have a suspension fault. My 2001 XKR does not have air suspension. There are 4 wheel height sensors. Can anyone please tell me where they are located and what they look like. Thanks in advance for the help.
Very respectfully, rgrisar

With Adaptive Damping there's no height sensors on the individual wheels but there are 2 vertical movement sensors (on the bulkhead below the AC and in the luggage compartment below the fuel tank) and 1 lateral movement sensor (in the RH bulkhead).

If you have a ride height issue, it's not because of these accelerometers.
If you have a body roll issue on acceleration or braking, it could be the vertical sensors; on cornering, it could be the lateral sensor.

Dear Graham. Thank you for the valuable information. Please allow me to explore a related item with you. In the engine compartment, each shock has an electrical connector and a connector/harness plugged into same. The plus seems to have two wires, and a larger pin for plug-alignment. I read somewhere, perhaps in my electrical diagram book, that one of these is 5V, the other is ground, and the third one returns a voltage. With the ignition off, the voltage is 2.3V - 2.7V. When operating, the voltage is 0.2V or 4.8V. I learned this from published info on the Adaptive Damping Control Module. Right now, when this module is plugged in properly, the dashboard warning says SUSPENSION FAULT. After months of this warning, I unplugged the module in the trunk. Now that the weather is much better (I'm in Florida) I would like to try and do the repair. The diagram calls these front lateral, front vertical, and rear vertical accelerometer feedback, respectively connector pins 20, 21, and 22. Are these the same or different than the connectors on the top of the front shocks?

If you don't have the XK8 2001MY Electrical Guide, you can download it from here:
