Default who can reprogram an ECU from one XK8 to another

So far, I cannot find anyone who can take a used ECM and reconfigure it to work in another
Do any of you know who can do this?
No point in buying a used one if you cannot do this.
This is a 4.2 litre 2003 XK8
Thanks

Have a read through this thread. It's not the one I was looking for, where a member on here did it, but I hope it helps. Not the same model I know, but method is the same.

So, from what I have learned so far, if your ECM goes out, you suddenly have a parts car since no one I can find can program another for your car.
The dealer doesnt seem interested and probably does not have the expertise any more.
So why buy one on Ebay if you cannot use it?
This cant be correct can it?

Manual conversion time with a new off the shelf ECU from MaxxECU? I would imagine you could get you're original ECU repaired though.

You have a few options. Get your own ECM repaired, find someone who can program a new one to your car or get the tools necessary to program it yourself.

Reach out to the Coventry Foundation - they should be able to assist. I've also reached out to my indie as he may be able to but I'm in the Charleston SC area

@Pantera928 I got an email back from my indie and he recommended Charleston Performance Solutions in Goose Creek SC - Phone: (843) 225-1142 He does have another possible vendor but is away from his shop and will send it when he returns

We have tried to program a replacement a few times with the WDS and had mixed results. A rebuilt ECU is easy to do but with a used one some of the data will not re write. The car will run but some functions will not work.

Appreciate the response - good info for all to be aware of as our cars age

Thank you. If the car that the ECU came from has the same functions as the one it is going into, will those functions work?
I am trying to get someone to program a back up ECU in the event that the original one goes out.

More interested in getting a spare in the event of a failure.
Sent MaxxECU a email. We shall see what they say
Thanks
