Why does the sunvisor have a switch?

Default Why does the sunvisor have a switch?

Needed to unscrew the sunvisor to hide some wires and fount the centre clip has wires to it and is a switch ...any idea why

I believe it sends power to the lighted mirror.

I guess it's belt and braces to make sure the lights under the mirror lid definitely extinguish when the sun visor is parked against the headlining.

Never seen a mirror light so will check that

Its also rigged so when you turn the visor to the side the light goes out !
