Ken interesting car. When I looked at the photo from the rear I was reminded of a conversation I had with one of the local Jaguar independent repair shops around here a few years ago. He stated: " you wouldn't believe the amount of those cars I've had to repair for body damage [to the rear panels]. You just can't see much of anything out the rear when backing up."
sure looks like a nice interior though.

I rescued my rear-ended car from becoming a salvage vehicle and I'm very glad. An exotic car can very easily have a high repair estimate and low market value, which lets the insurer total the vehicle. They seem to like the simplicity of writing a check, and thereby avoiding all the effort and risk of attempting to make the repairs and please the owner. Their cost is capped at the market value, so they don't need an accurate estimate. I'm very glad I kept my rear-ended BMW. Its clear title allows me to insure it with my preferred insurance company which only insures clear title vehicle. To accomplish this, I got my own lower estimate at my own reputable shop, then I had the work done economically at my leisure, over time, in stages. It's sad to see a nice XK8 scrapped and crushed so an insurer can have an easy day, especially if the car is still perfectly safe following expensive cosmetic damage.
