Will XKR and XK8 be a future classic

The bigger problem for all of us who love and lay hands on cars is that American kids have no interest in cars. Many don't even get a drivers license until they are forced to and would never think of getting their hands dirty. The world is changing and we are relics of a culture that may not exist in 50 years.

I think there are many kids that like cars, just rice burners, they are a dime a dozen. They can't afford decent used cars with v8's, they cost too much still. When I was of age to buy a car and drive one, mustang's and camaro's, chevelle's, monte's, etc were all still cheap in the late 70's through the 80's. Today my 19 year old can't afford a nice clean used 80's and up v8 american car.

The interesting thing about some of those rice burners is that many run better, handle better & are more reliable and can kick tail on many of my old muscle cars. Had two 69 Mach I's, a 68 Charger, 82 Trans Am. Drum Brakes, poor suspension, carburated fuel, points and no Z rated tires. Would not want to race any of them on a winding road toe to toe with a supercharged rice burner.

You are absolutely right. However your muscle cars have soul. A lot like motorcycles. The classics, Triumph, BSA, Harley Davidson etc will be easily smoked by a decent running 500cc rice bike. Too bad they look like a jet ski and sound like a sewing machine. To each his own, I will bow to the better performance but for me, my head will always be turned by the classics!

Went to jag dealer for tranny flush. The sales man walked up to me and told me they wanted to buy my car! He said normally we do not buy cars but we are looking for clean xkr's!!!!!
I told hom i would not even trade it for a f-type. Lol. The clean original ones are rapidly rising.if Folks like the jag dealer are buying them then i know enough

The XK8 is a beautiful car that makes it's driver look like a million bucks. There will probably always be people that would like to own one. Since I will never be able to afford an E type I could be happy with an XK8. The XJS is a dramatic looking car that makes the driver look like a real enthusiast. The XJS was the nearest thing that Jaguar built to a classic true exotic car. The V12 puts it in a different class. That is why I bought one. Surely not for everyone. And surely not forgotten by any means.
