Window learning - what am I doing wrong?

My windows are not learning what I believe to
be the 'procedure'. When I lift the handle, the window dips. BUT when I release the handle, the window goes back up immediately. Isn't it supposed to wait until the door is closed to go back up? Am I wrong? I did the routine to teach the window, down click, up click in ignition #2 position. Right? LOL

Does this happen on BOTH windows or just one? If just one, which one?
You must do the window reset procedure from the proper switch on each side. That means the drivers-side procedure from its armrest switch and the passenger-side procedure from its armrest switch. You cannot do the passenger-side procedure using the passenger-side controls on the drivers-side armrest switch.....

Same on our 2001 XKR.
To reset the window on our '01, I press and hold the switch in the down position. When the glass is all the way down, I continue to hold the button down. A soft "click" is heard from the regulator motor. I continue to hold the switch down for a count of 10 for good measure. Then I hold the switch in the up position and when the glass is all the way up, I continue to hold until the click is heard and then another 10 seconds. I then repeat the down & up procedures and that works 90% of the time.
Cheers,
Don
