winter storage questions
#21
My neighbor has one and last year I saw him clearing a meter of snow from the roof and it's still standing.
BTW, I was stocking the basement with wood a few weeks ago and ran across a mouse nest under one of the piles. The mouse had made the nest out of dryer sheets.

OK, for this winter I'm using an ultrasonic mouse chaser, mothballs and dryer sheets. Mice rebuilt their abode under my passenger side fuse box this summer. Took an hour to pull it all out, along with 6 pink baby mice. The car stinks of mothballs, even with the top down today, but so far, so good. Thanks for the tip about storing with the top UP!

dryer sheets, mothballs, etc.
The last winter I stored my XK8, I used dryer sheets inside the car, and mothballs in the engine compartment. When I checked under the hood, I discovered empty peanut shells within two inches of a mothball. I have also heard of mice making nests of dryer sheets; I know from painful experience that they love the foam-backed headliner material.

mouse traps etc
Last winter I used mothballs under the bonnet and dryer sheets in the cabin.
I found an empty peanut shell on the engine two inches from a mothball.
No signs of rodent presence inside. Also, an electronic anti-mouse gadget is plugged in next to the car and it does absolutely nothing, as I periodically catch mice or moles in conventional snap traps on the floor throughout the year. (I live in the country, and the cars are parked in a heated garage.) I had to replace the headliner within a month of purchasing the car last summer due to mouse damage so I no longer park the car indoors without first raising the top.

My Opinion:
The Portable Garage looks nice, but then your back to inside storage and places for the mice to warm up in. Neighbor ordinance might not allow it. Not in a neighborhood, might be best bet with electric mouse traps.
Inside, (garage) you would be hard pressed to beat the Car Capsule. Pricey, but should last a few years.
Other then that, consider moving to Florida, but that with-in itself might not be a good idea, because if Obama has his way, refugees might be living in your garage.....
