A word or two about my XK8...
I just realized something.
My 99 XK8 is my second Jaguar, and the latest in a life long flow of cars in and out of my hands. Never, have I ever, been so obsessed with a car, even after my accident where I smunched the passenger side nose and rear quarter.
I almost parted it out...until someone asked me what I wanted for a tiny bracket and my conscience would not let me remove it. Mind you, I've let go of cars for much much less.
Here's a mentality check for you: When people say it's a nice sports car, I say thank you. But in the back of my mind I'm thinking "It's not a sports car...it's a Jaguar".
I cannot even fathom letting go of this car.

When I bought mine as a non runner, and then started to price up the work that needed doing to her.... I remember thinking 'well, if it all goes wrong, she's worth the purchase price just to sit in the driveway as a piece of art.'
Even the birds that fly over the garden don't poop on her out of respect! My wife's car has bird poop on it constantly.
Well... to be honest, that might be more to do with the fact that I make my wife park HER car under the utility lines in the driveway now.
She understands.... and I wash her car each week. ☺
Jack.

Agree with all posters...was out washing my 2000 XKR in this "warm" midday in NW Oregon, under a smidge of sunshine, 40 degrees F. Spent an hour with chamois afterwards. My wife smiles indulgently, and I soooo appreciate her attitude .
It's not cosmetically perfect, this BRG/tan beauty, but then if it was I'd hate to drive it in our less that stellar winters up here, let alone the better weather. And drive it, I intend to do. Sitting, the Jag is surely a lovely piece of art, but driven...well, then they are off the charts.
