Salu498,
How long has it been since you shopped your insurance policies? We were with State Farm for more than 20 years up until about five years ago. They got fat, dumb, and happy on us thinking we would tolerate significant premium increases every six months even with perfect driving records and credit history. So I decided to shop around and cut our auto insurance premiums by nearly half with just one day of research. I promptly fired my long-time State Farm agent and switched to Geico. While he didn't like it, he certainly understood and had no defense for State Farm hosing us....
Even though Geico has treated us well, this experience taught me to shop our insurance policies on an annual basis. So every year, I pick one day in the middle of February and do just that. Time well spent....

I don't know, some days I'd give it away others no way. I'm always looking at other cars, have always had an issue with faithfulness!
Would love an XKE but good ones are out of my price range, I would like the better handling of the X150 but it just isn't as great looking as the X100.
Who knows, for now I'm happy with what I have.

I bought my current XKR as we wanted a 2+2 convertible. I think the Maserati GranCabrio is a better solution to that, but my wife didn't want to spend the extra money. The Ferrari California's back seats are even smaller than the X100. My wife likes the X100 over the X150. The BMW 4 series was a thought but was too bland.
I'm not sure I'll keep this car forever, as it's a fourth car for the family. I'd also love an E-Type but really can't justify an OTS or coupe 2+2.
I'm ot sure what we'll do once the girls outgrow the back seats (they are 6 and 10).

My insurance is $240 a month! Probably because of my age though. I bought it at 22 and it's a luxury car so there's that...

i would sell it if the maintenance outweighed my paycheck...or if i had to for medical bills, or my son, etc...in the end its just a material thing. a stunning car, but you can't take it with you! i have sold artwork worth 3 times my car, when i had to... so i just think of this as another nice thing that at the moment i can afford to have. nothing is worth stressing out over. and it makes no sense to keep pumping money into a wound... knock on wood, my XKR has been great.
shop insurance, or maybe get on a family policy? i pay WAY less than that, full coverage and it comes with a separate rider for my BBS wheels too.
as for another car, a vintage aston martin, ferrari, or maserati... but next investment will likely be a small boat

Salu498, state Farm is charging me $400 6months on a 1998. Jon mentioned geico above, it reminded me of something. I was talking to a body shop owner and mentioned geico. He said he abhors having to deal with them, apparently not all insurance companies are equal when it comes down to reasonable cost appraisals and or allowing shops to use OEM parts.
You and I just have perspective on the price, I wish there was a way to evaluate car insurance companies from the body shops perspective. It'd give us a view of what to expect should there be a fender bender down the road.
This perspective opened my eyes, I wonder if any of us are body shop employees- live to hear your perspective on dealing with different insurance companies.
John

Would like to add a 2nd car as my daily driver, but SWMBO doesn't share my enthusiasm. I have considered a used XJ or Maserati Quattroporte for a daily driver. She's thinking Honda or Toyota. I haven't pressed it as I often lose these battles.

This probably isn't a good fit for every one, especially if your car is a daily driver. My 2000 XK8 is insured for an agreed-upon value with Hagerty insurance, with an (non-enforced) limit of about 4,000 miles per year. Great coverage, with flatbed towing included, for $ 427/year. Nice folks to deal with.

No. It's stuck with me for life, poor thing.
Unremarkable compared to many of the examples on here and it's not worth enough to get me out of trouble now (that's what the plate on the MG is for), but - no, I just couldn't.
My wife drives it too when she gets the chance.
lossking_ I love the way you've done that picture
