We really need to get together for some pics. Two truly red XK8s in one place would very rare to see. So far I never seen another red one in person.
Hi Rothwell, I'm doing much better now if you would still like to get our two red convertibles together. This weekend or next week sometime would be great if you'r available. If not let me know what works for you. My granddaughter is visiting this week for spring break and we have another family visiting for spring break the week of 3/25 through 3/29 so those dates won't work for me.
Thanks, Mike

So are these Stern Rims? Jaguar or what? This is the look that I wanted to go with.. But the Stern ST-7's have so many talking bad about them when you go to forums.. Mainly because Stern duplicates certain rims that are high performance and expensive and copy them with their own type that usually weigh a lot more.. To be honest I care more for the appearance than performance on these cars.. I have my other car for speed.. The Jag is for enjoying it and mostly my daily transportation.. What rim is that and are they 19 or 20's? Thanks ..
I had the same rims on my car when I bought it and they were fine... I always wanted some larger wheels than the 18", so when it came time to replace the tires I looked around for a used set of wheels and rims and found these (for <$500 net after selling my original rims):
Those wheels look nice. Especially with that color.

The wheels are 20" Avant Garde M310... if you buy them from the company they will make the center bore the proper diameter... they are like 72mm bore standard and need to be 73.9mm or so to fit over the hub (and be hub centric). I took the wheels to a local wheel shop and they bored the wheels and rebalanced and all for $200. And these wheels are 5x120 (ours call for 5x120.65) but they fit perfectly with NO issues whatsoever... they were off of a BMW 5-series that this kid was leasing and when the lease was up he wanted to sell the wheels and tires.
Hi my 2001 MY XK8 convertible came with the standard 17”inch Lamina wheels which I have never really liked. I thought about changing to 20” Detroits but ride comfort is sacrificed. I eventually decided on the 18” Impeller wheels (the factory option in 2001) like the ones fitted to your car which in addition to looking great are far more rare than the other 18” rims which make them more special.
I didn't particularly like the wheels when I bought them, but I've grown to like them a lot. The have a real classic look. And the ride is great compared to larger wheels.
XK8Mojo,
The Red with the White Snow in the background is really stunting!.
I had a Topaz 98 XK8 Coupe that had the same "Revolver" Wheels, ;which were just painted Silver, these wheels look almost Chrome plated and that helps them out a little but I'm sorry to say, "Not Much!" A set of "Double Fives" would really make the Car.....but as I said, the Chrome Plate look helps them out quite a bit!...I think the "Revolver" was Jaguar's first wheel that was made strictly for the XK8....I'm sure the Guys will let us know, if I'm wrong! I do know that was about the only Wheel you could get for the XK8 back in 1998, as they came on my 98....
Your XK8 gets an A+ from me....!
I've heard of "Loveland Pass" and think it is in Colorado....Somewhere….?
Like I said, they have grown on me. They are almost so odd they are cool.
They are one of the most unloved X100 wheels, but still look nice. It's really impressive how Jaguar made so many different wheel designs, yet they all are at least nice looking. Good looking car btw!
MRomanik,
You know, I kind'a like the one on the bottom...Never really thought about painting them like that but that really improves their looks....You have saved the "Revolver" in my book... XK8Mojo might consider something like that...

Agreed the bottom one is sweet. I've done a lot of automotive paint work, could knock that out pretty easily.
You know, with the bright Silver Spokes as yours's are right now and that Flat Black or a Shinny black Brake Cover . The Wheel would really jump-out at you, as it would be so different from what most people have seen before...I think the brighter Silver the Spokes are the better....Love to see Photos of that! Sot of something new!
I don't know which Black would look best? Shiny or Flat...I would need to see them to make a decision....
