2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe - Onyx/Ivory - Osram DTRL 2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe - Onyx/Ivory Medium Tint on Windows - Victory Edition Tail- Lights with LED Bulbs
Yesterday, Saturday here in Houston was a Beautiful Day! So, I thought it would be a good idea to "Cleaner-upp" a little....Bought a Mother's Clay 02 "Thingamugig" and got out a Bottle of Griot's Spray Wash for a base and went to work.....and when I finished the Clay Bar procedure, I was amazed! The Paint was like Glass...You could run your hand over it and it was completely smooth. I even tried the "Plastic Bag" trick and it works!
Then, I pulled out the new stuff that I bought on the internet called "F-11" and applied it over the entire Car.....It went on very well and turned the entire Car into a "Mirror"! I'll let you know how well it stands-up over the Summer....Took me about 3 hours over all!
Enjoy the Photos and watch the Clouds in the Mirror like Onyx Paint.....
Just got this lovely 2001 XK8 here in Abu Dhabi. The expat community cycles through cars quickly. I managed to pick this one up for a fair price from a gentleman who had done some restoration to the front suspension and engine, but now is heading back home to Europe. I get to do the rest (which is not much, mainly cosmetic - or at least I hope!).
Hi Billy,
those are 18" rims and it's what the car came with. The previous owner swapped out the original 17" and fitted these on. He sourced them locally in the UAE. I have a receipt somewhere and could look up the model number if recorded. I do agree that they are nice!
Thanks
Yes, I know, and I am trying to source the part here in the UAE but it's not so easy. I have seen them online for about 40€ each, which seems excessive. I hear there are some in Sharjah.
...
My left one disappeared also, back in November and that little mirror piece cost me $45.00 plus Shipping....Pretty darn expensive but without it the Car sort of looks funny.....Let me know if you can't find one!
I agree about the car looking a little one-eyed without it! I just ordered on from eBay.uk for 25£ with shipping. I hope it makes it to the UAE.
A little touch up paint on the trim (and a nice little scratch caused by my neighbor on my passenger door) and it will be more or less clean....
ABS unit it shot (it may be a connector that needs cleaning) and the fuel level sending unit is shot, so those are my mechanical priorities (more the fuel sender than the ABS, which I can live without).
