Are those engine covers stock? I also have a '97 coupe and mine are black with white lettering.

You are correct, mine where black with gray lettering. I sprayed them with stainless steel gray and hand painted the letters red.

Default My present and second XKR Coupe—2006 BRG. (My first one was a 2001)

Well I guess the Jaguar Motor Car is in my DNA. My dad had a number of them. At one point he had the number one 1983 Vanden Plas in charcoal black that won Best of Show in his category judged at the Ford Estate Competition in 1990

. He also had a 1984 XJ 12-cylinder Coupe in BRG and a 1955 four door Jaguar XK 140 in Canary Yellow.

My first Jag was a 1996 Vanden Plas in British Racing Green. Then I had a 1998 Vanden Plas in Pearl Black. Followed by the 2001 XKR Coupe in BRG. At the same time my wife had a 2001 XK-8 with a Black Convertible Top with a Silver Body. And now this is my 2006 XKR Coupe/BRG.

Default New to the forum and New to Jaguar.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to the Jaguar world. I wasn't in the market for a Jaguar or even a new car but this one came along and I could say no. It a 2000 XKR 19,000miles and is virtually brand new inside and out. (I think I'm in love).

I look forward to the forum and all it can teach me.
Than You, Terry

I wish I knew the complete history of the car. It was obviously very well kept it's whole life. We were friends of the couple that owned it before me. They had it for 3 years but only put about a thousand miles on it. The wife was quite sick and a Jaguar was a bucket list item for her. She past away early in the year and her husband thought it was fitting that we had it. So we bought it and are now Jaguar people.

The "out from the shadows" photo could be framed!
Great way to capture the strongest feature of the XKR!
Congrats.

Stran0020...4.2...there’s a world of difference in power and quickness to me. And when you put it in “S” mode, it’s a rocket!!!!

TedV,

Those Wheels on the Silver Convertible are "Double Fives" and came on XK8 & XKR's around 2000.....My 2000 XKR had them..... Who made them is the question! Does anyone know? Was it BBS?
