After seeing the great threads for the XF and F type, I thought we needed a similar one to just post your pics on! Before, during, or after mods, painting, or just plain great pics of your cars!! It's would also be fun to see a few with the proud parents of our cars in the pics too!! Anything interesting with your car in the pic!
It's always fun to run across the occasional photo in a thread but this one is just for our photos!
Maybe if it goes well, it can be a sticky! It would be a great place to remember former and lost members before its too late, as well as the new owners to come!!
Just registered, just bought this 98 xk8 from the original owners, with 37k miles. Not a scratch on it and always garaged and covered. Was pure stock - have added: the Asteroids with Michelin Pilots; 20mm spacers; a little de-chroming in front; removed the big and mid exhaust boxes with a crossover and new bigger tips;
The pride of ownership on these pages is phenomenal. It makes me want to go out to the garage and clay the Jag. Just today I drove to a new neighborhood and several people admired the car ranging from "what kind of car is that" to "wow, nice ride." This model has timeless beauty and thanks to all in this thread for sharing these views.
I took my XK8 convertible to my local Jaguar franchise dealer following an invitation from Jaguar UK to have a test drive in a F-Type 5.0L coupe SVR. When I got there, the two Jaguar HQ representatives remarked how beautiful my XK8 looked. Also, there was a new sales representative in the dealership who also remarked how good it looked. After 16 years, the car still gets admiring comments and views. By the way, didn't get to test drive the SVR as the invitation indicated, they don't make it any more. It was a R Type 5.0L! Nice car, love to have one, but not prepared to pay £100k for one. Keeping my XK8 for life!!!
Imported from California to Norway in January 2000. Finally finished the standard stuff; new hydraulic lines, new front suspension bushings, new timing chain and tensioners and "blacked out" headlights.
Take out the headlights, heat them in the oven at 150 C in 30 minutes. Pry loose the lenses. Mask the indicatorlenses, paint the chrome finish black (I actually used gloss black engine paint). And glue it together again.
