Default So much time, so little room.

About 1970 we tried it in my 1964 Austin Healy 3000 Mark III with the top up and it was a no go, so youth may not be the answer. The secret is taking the top down I think. Either that or a moon roof. A moon roof with a Thule rack bar above can work very well.

Nothing quite like a Thule rack bar above a moonroof for displaying magnificent racks in the moonlight....

The Rockport/Camden area is one of my favourite places to visit. We try and get down there 3-4 times a year. It's worth the trip just for the Owls Head Museum and the excellent craft beers.

Default time for a picture on this thread

I had a facelift on the XK8; If the fuzz see it, it will cost me 180 Euros.

What cosmetic improvement could that be....?

I don't think that chrome strip on the bonnet looks that bad.

p.s. those are the nicest curtains I have ever seen in a garage.

It's my livingroom, silly...

Smaller front plate?
Aside from anything, I'd have to mask those over riders and chrome strip and hit the bumper bar behind with some flat black paint. Whole area inside the opening actually. That's the first thing I did to mine.

Default spot on!

Very astute, Phil, It makes a world of difference imho, just fits the line soo much better!

The fact that not everyone on the forum noticed it immediately gives me some hope the busy policemen will neither; The real stupid thing is that plenty of US cars are allowed a smaller plate, but not the XK's. Anyways, worth the risk I'm sure

mjohn337,

Excellent work on the paint and a beautiful coupe.

Glad you have your priorities straight on work vs. the Jag.

Around here, they're too busy looking for texting and speeding to notice anything like that. I've had a tinted plate cover for years and only got a warning when stopped for speeding. Probably the same for your plate. Unless stopped for something else and they notice then.

I used a Turtle Wax Jet Black finish kit. It comes with black tinted pre cleaner, wax, and detail spray. Honestly, it was nearly this good just after using the clay bar prior to the wax kit.
