Before and after pics. You can only see one dent in these pictures but my car was in the dent removal shop for most of the day. Not a dent left now and you would never know they were ever there.
Yes, amazing. I was shocked it was so good, no painting needed! I guess this was not possible with older cars with there stronger metal and lower quality paint? Will have to ask the dent guy when he does my other car!
You just took me back to 2008! That could be a Photo of my 1st X-100! Topaz Coupe with Silver Revolvers.....Never forget leaving the Country Club one afternoon after a round of Golf...Had a couple Beers! Loaded the Clubs in the Boot/Trunk and started the Car! Then Boom!! The Old Timing-Chain BROKE! 2 weeks and $3,450.00 later....I drove it Home!
Beautiful Car not Engineered Well.....

Greetings from up the road in Prince George. That is a beautiful car. What year is it? Except for the rims it could be the twin of my '97 coupe.
@Billy Clyde @ Cinco Ranch Sorry about that! I know my car has had the upper tensioners done and possibly the lowers. My mechanic has promised to check that with a boroscope when he replaces the valve cover gaskets. But every time I drive her I am very careful not to stress the V8 to much as It is a worry.
@ozbot Greetings from Vancouver. My car is also a 1997 . It's a very early car judging from the VIN. Does your car have the 18's? I have read the XK8 was the first car ever sold to sport 18's. I will be trying for collector plates once the front clip has been repainted by Korva. Need the front seats painted and then she will be done!
I just checked on my first Topaz XK8 and I was wrong....It was a 1997.but I bought it used in Louisville, KY over the internet! I was looking for a Topaz at the time and worked a deal with a Cadillac Dealer up there.....I left Houston about 10PM and drove all the way to Louisville...Got there around 2PM the next Day....Did the deal and left them my old 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII....Went to a Motel and slept until about 3AM and hit the road back to Houston.....In my 1997 XK8 Coupe....It was a thrill all the way Home....It was my 1st of 4.....
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine!....Good Luck!
Sounds like a great adventure! I had to travel for my car as well. Bought it in Medicine Hat Alta. last August, my first XK8, and drove it back to Vancouver, but it was not done in one day. It started throwing error messages going through Calgary and I googled it and it looked like maybe a bad ECU. It finally broke down in Sicamous BC quite late so I contacted BCAA and they towed her for free to the local companies yard. Next day towed again 125 kms to a Brit car shop. I took a bus home. That shop wanted to replace the coil packs and were not interested in checking the ECU. The car they said was now running. I declined that repair and flew out there, started driving back again, made it about 150 kilometers and broke down again on Highway 3. I was not getting good cell phone reception and had to stand right next to the highway for it to work. Yikes! It was busy too because of the fires last year in that area, Hwy 3 was the only way through. Anyway the truck showed up and car was delivered safe and sound to New Westminster where I have a rented underground spot. But the last code it threw was PECUS E. Which means? A bad ECU. So I shipped it off to Idaho to Module Master. $250 CAD incl shipping there and back and my car has never skipped a beat since. So far that is haha. Have to check those tensioners. Oh and BCAA gave me every tow for free, but I used up all I could have that year.
jp5, I bought mine in Vancouver in 2018 and the car has been great but that picture does look familiar and so does this quote.

yours
mine on the way to get the motor replaced. I blew mine doing around 240kph on the way back from Mackenzie. I was thinking about collectors plates but I've replaced the original exhaust and air intake with the Mina units and the 18" revolvers with some 20" Avarus A2s so I don't know if it will pass the originality part. These cars are a blast to drive as you've already discovered. I've been driving mine through the canyon and over the mountain roads around here and love it. If you need a spare rim I have an 18" revolver with a brand new Pirelli for you and I can drop it off in a couple weeks when I'm down in Van.
Sounds like you guys in Canada have all the fun. Wonder why you keep coming down here to S.W. Fla. all the time?? Not really, just proves that owning an XK really always is an adventure. If you want plan, dependable transportation, get a Corolla.....
Hey Ozbot, that is painful but glad you persevered and kept your car on the road. I have seen pictures of your car online when I was looking for mine back in 2020. Looked like at a dealer in False Creek across from downtown. I guess they stayed online for awhile. You don't really see them much even in Vancouver so I bet you might have the only one in PG. My revolvers are in pretty good shape but thanks for the offer. Did you rebuild your engine or buy a used one?
Hi jp5, I bought a rebuilt engine and had my mechanic do the re and re. The old one is going to the rebuilder in November when he has time and he can work on it over winter. I guess at some point you do have to take your foot off the floor. I realize that I made a typo. I bought the car in the spring of 2019 not 2018 but that is still a long time to leave the picture up when the car is sold.
