Nice Strut Brace
Lovely car, with beautiful deep paint, looks great at sunset. The strut brace is a nice piece of kit - I like the colour of the intake too.
I know many race cars have this type of brace fitted to stiffen up the front to reduce body roll. My old 79 Jag XJS had two of them as standard at 45 degrees to each other as in this photo.
This wasn't my car, just a google result, but shows the typical XJS setup of these braces.
I now have a 2004.5 XKR - yes it's a funny mid-year model near the end of production of the X100. I have to register it here in New Zealand as a 2004 model though as they don't use halves
A strut brace can't be used in an XKR in it's typical form as there is no clearance when you shut the hood - the hood lining slightly rests on the supercharger as it stands now and makes small wear marks where the high points of the supercharger intercooler meet the hood.
This hood liner wearing is typical of all XKR's I've seen so far. I guess a strut brace could be re-configured to wrap around the back of the supercharger actually perhaps around or over the throttle body. It would be an interesting task I think.
The red rocker covers look great and I like the led strip under the headlights - I don't suppose you recall where you got them from. I once saw an XKR that had a few splashes of colour. The entire intercooler was red like your rockers and it reminded me of a chev 350 or something - looked very cool anyway.

Chip - How high does the bottom of the strut bar rise from the mounting brackets (that attach to the top of the struts)? I THINK this will fit with my new motor but I would like to know before I order one. As you can see in the photo below, the highest point on my motor is about 1-1/2" above the highest point of the strut opening. The total rise on the strut bar you have appears to be more than 1-1/2" so it looks as if it might work on my car. Thanks!

My 2000 XKR has done just 106km and is completely original and near immaculate. The colour is Emerald Green and changes depending on the sun - a direct reflection from the sun is a bright metallic green, but in shadow it's a very dark blue-green. I've never seen anything like it and pedestrians often stop to have a second look when it's parked.
I've had it a year and it's been completely reliable, although I did have to replace the hydraulic hoses to the locking latch for the vert top. The dog is a cocker spaniel and believes the car is his.

I'll never find another you
.Hey guys, Just sold my 2001 XK8 in Topaz metallic, with about 97K. Absolutely every service was done to her at the Jag dealer or in my driveway...a spectacular example...Needless to say, I spent a fortune on her, but needed to focus on other goals in life including my XJS and DB7. If there was ever any question as to why you love XKs, once you get the top down in Autumn, and the revs over 2,500, you'll know why! So long my lovely XK! I already miss her!
