Perfect drophead weather yesterday.

Crisp in the morning for the drive into campus and warm and sunny in the afternoon after work for a fast jaunt through the countryside and along our twisty river road, flashing through the sunlight and the trees in all their brilliant fall colors.

It is so nice having a performance car that I am totally happy with, that I can look at and say "Yes, that's just the Jaguar I want to be driving". While I can appreciate other sports cars, such as the nice late model Aston Martin I crossed paths with yesterday, there is no desire for the AM or regrets to choosing this XKR.

For me, this XKR sits right in my sweet sport of performance, styling, safety, reliability, economics, and racing heritage.

Default LGL Titanium Pearl Mettalic

This car is so filthy, just out of a ten year slumber, I thought it was a flat color.

Just arrived at shop for a long list of repairs. Can't wait to get it home and clean it up!!

My project. Sat in a kid's garage for 8 years. The project snowballed. Trans repair, fuel pump, antenna, speakers, all hoses, radiator, ABS module, alternator (3 times), tires, upper shock mounts and shock bushings, P/S reservoir gasket, every gasket on the engine save for the front cover and rear main. But now it's a pleasure to drive, other than the too-high seating position. It'll never be a museum piece, but I buy my projects to be driven. Oh, and the cassette player works, too!

Very nice! I also have a 2000 XKR. Have you had any issues with the top hydraulics?

No. They seem to work well. I know the PO put on a new top just before he parked it when the trans gave up. I have no clue what was done. The receipt just says new top.

Curious.

Did you paint the garage that color before or after you bought the Jag??

Spring has sprung, shrubbery is in bloom, pollen is breath-taking, and my new-to-me 2006 XKR Victory Edition is running like a champ.

At the SCCA autocross race. Did well as heavy as she is on street tires. Of course Mina Lowering springs, intake, muffler delete and "supreme driving skill" LOL all contributed.
Cheers, Mike

The hydraulics had been done when I bought mine 12 years ago. Whew! Thought it was clear. Nope. Green shower. Okay. Done. Nope another four years later. Still need to fix it again.

I understand that lowering the pressure increases longevity.
But you'll have to confirm that.
