Decided to take off fhe cross stripes from the Union Jack graphic. Used it for a few car shows and had fun but tired of so many people asking about it and taking photos. So I left the center stripe and now it's a bit more subtle.

Also got a 2002 XK8. (Also $$ spent to make up for years os neglect) coolant syste was the biggest issue and just about got the best of me. FYI, it it still has the plastic thermostat housing, I'd change now to new metal one. And if you smell coolant at anytime from rear of engine bay, probably the octopus hose set up. I've changed every single hose chasing down the issue so just keep an eye on it.
That being said, I love my XK8!

Cheers for the heads up on the water pump Philhef.
This time I did some research before choosing the model, and I heard about water pump impeller and also cam chain tensioners
I thought it may have been sorted out by 2002 but I just noticed my car was built sept 2001 so Ill have to keep an eye on it, how difficult is it to change water pump?
Havent recieved the service records yet so dont know whats been done
Its one of the best shape jags ive seen for the money and BRG to top it off I had to have it.
Yes agree about the X-type when it was working it was great, 4 cyl diesel turbo was very economical, however in the 3 months I owned it it spent all but 2 weeks in the shop at the jag specialists, it kept shutting down dead as a dorrnail
they change bothe fuel pumps fuel tank, all fuel lines and much more , then they finally said its fixed but by this time I was nervous driving it waiting for next breakdown so traded it in losing $5000, however next week car yard said it stopped and they cant fix it, so got rid of it in time.
Didnt know it was a ford engine at the time.

That's what I am trying to get an explanation on. This 97 has XKR on the rear and the XKR body and wheels. The supercharged XKR began in 98. So I need a historian or someone to help me understand why this car is monogrammed with XKR and has everything XKR but a supercharged engine.....and with a 1997 year?

what year is the XKR. Look further down this page. I just got my XKR and it looks just like yours. Mine is a 97 and I can't understand why it has the XKR body when the R allegedly began in 97. It has XKR on the rear as well, but is not supercharged. Can you tell me....by the way....beautiful cars!...Jeff
