You haven't been around lately, Phil. I figured you finally sold the car to the guy who said he was willing to give you eighteen grand for it....

It's been in the trim shop undergoing a bit of a change! Having the inserts re sewn with vintage Louis Vuitton inserts, many I'm doing the door inserts as well. Recovering the rear seat delete to look like a vintage LV steamer trunk. Not in a rapper/tacky way, but a vintage feel.
He always buys his wife a LV something for Christmas and anniversaries so he's really wanting it now! I've told him I may keep longer to show at a few events and luckily their anniversary is in November!!

I know it's not for everyone but it's already a one-off custom XK8 and after seeing a vintage Porsche 356 with LV luggage on the rack, I couldn't get it out of my head!

The owners of the local customization shops must light up like Christmas trees when they see you coming....

Actually I do most of the work myself. The the shop is removing the seat skins and replacing the inserts with the LV canvas. I'm doing the door panels and the rear seat delete area. Still debating on doing the whole rear area or actually covering my little trunk and speaker covers in the LV canvas.
I do most all my mods because I'm so picky and the trim shops want to talk me into more "boy racer" mods!
Same with my XF, although I have embraced my inner boy racer with it!! It realky pisses off the purists!! Lol. Admittedly I like to "poke the Bears"! Lol.

And truth be told, don't we all really like a totally insane car sometimes more than just another stock one? There's plenty of those, but it's the really out there ones that I remember the most.

Hey! I'm new here so I figured I would add a few pics. I don't know if they are "wow" worthy, but I just figured it up and a snapped a few pics on the drive. Looking forward to the forums!

That is a WOW picture! Few would have the guts to customize a Jag, but to have it look like it all belongs after the work, amazing. Great details Phil. The trim around the grille, the white side markers, the headlamps and fog lamps; very cool ideas and execution.

Finally, I drove out to where I used to live in Malibu to get a couple of shots. Such a beautiful day. Wanted to take some pics overlooking Deer Creek Road but it was too dangerous today.

Gorgeous scenery. Used to live in Malibu, did you? Just thinking about what the cost-of-living there today must be gives me the shakes....

Yup. I lived on the Dry Gulch Ranch for a while. A few miles in from Neptune's Net. That was fun while it lasted. Would get stuck once in a while during the rainy season. Where were you?

I really like that color! My first Jaguar, a 1955 XK140MC DHC, was a similar color.
