OK - Cool or UnCool, that is the question. At considerable expense ($27), I created a magnetic front license plate for my XK8. Euro themed, but with the Utah state seal, and the correct license plate numbers/letters for my car. (I had heard I could be ticketed for no front license plate) and I did not want to drill any holes in the car. Please reply with your thoughts.

Cool idea with the magnet, but here in Idaho they have something called a "fictitious display of plates" that it would fall under, or you could still be issued a cite for "fail to display front plate." I would imagine they have something similar in Utah.

I'm in SLC. Put The same plate on my '97 last Sept. Haven't been stopped yet.

Cool. How's your car treating you? I've had mine 3 years (6,000 miles). No issues so far!

I've had mine for about 6 yrs. After repairing a few issues (ABS module, thermostat housing, respray), I've had no major issues with 79,600 miles on it.
Does Utah not allow a front plate exemption for some vehicles like Washington? Washington explicitly allowed the waiver for the XK8 (at least 2000 models). I'm in Michigan where that crap ain't required.
