Just had a lot of "open heart" surgery done to my beloved XK8; this included replacing the timing chains, tensioners, and guides. The shop was kind enough to hang on to the old parts for me - all the old parts showed some wear, but this here is the worst: one of the original timing chain guides in a state of distress:
Looks OK from this angle; there's some visible chain wear, but OK.
Wait, is that gap supposed to be there?
Hmm... it is a very clean gap, maybe it is meant to be there.
Though that hairline cracking at the bottom edge is definitely not.
Waitaminute.... I don't think that gap is supposed to be there!
EEP! That doesn't look good.
REPLACE YOUR GUIDES, PEOPLE!
I keep this piece on my desk as a friendly reminder not to put off for tomorrow the things that need to be done today.
Had a lady at the office ask me what it was, I told her it was a "car bone".

Okay so first, this is my first XKR, 2012. I used to be in this business of wraps so I wanted to cover it. As much as I wanted to do some other colors, I kept coming back to the satin black. Honestly, I was going for the "if 007 had dated Batman" type look. Keep in mind this was all white exterior, all white/cream/charcoal interior and I am not a fan of white outside. Now, keep in mind, it's not done as we will put a gloss ghost outline of a jaguar on it when done, subtle but sleek. A LOT cheaper than paint and I can always change it later. I have to give serious notes to the person doing this wrap in Sacramento (where I bought the car before bringing it home) Kristen with wrapstarpro.com. I thought I was detailed when I had my shop, this girl/lady/woman is an absolute perfectionist to the highest regard. She even took off all the chrome trim and covered it in gloss black for a great subtle effect. I realize this isn't everyone's cup of tea but enjoy....now on to the interior, have to break up all that cream on the seats.

That's why we have and XK now. My husband's dad had a green XKE but wrapped it around a tree when he was younger. We previously had the XJS but just bought the XK and he loves it cause it reminds him of his Dad and the XKE.

I have an 09 XK, am going to Scotland in May 2018 and my rental, to get an automatic, is a Jaguar, probably not an XK or anything near it, but am wishing it were my XK on those roads! I guess any Jaguar will do though!
