ThomasL or philhef,

Sounds like something I would like to try...I succeed with about 1 photo in 5 while trying to send photos....It gets pretty frustrating going through all those steps and then nothing comes through.....About 1 in 5 is my best.....please let me in on the Photo secret!!!

Impressive ....... but this is the XK8/XKR (1996-2006) forum. Try the equivalent XK/XKR (2006-2014) forum:

Billy, This sounds smart alecky, but keep trying, practice will work. His thread was simple, but as always is true, with computers, it has to be exactly right. Tom :-)

Brainiac here just noticed the top is down while simultaneously the driveway is wet. Nice composition.
Being a fan, I've been studying the mid-century architecture for days and see the fellow drove up after the rain, top down and a photo. I hope in that order. Looks like Palm Springs.

You should post this picture in the XKE thread, we are really short of pictures over there. The building looks like something that came out of the World's Fair in the 1930s any background?

Smile "The Texas Coupe"

Deuce 2000,

This is my 2005 XKR Coupe....It's parked out back here at Cinco Ranch just west of Houston.

My thought was, "You might want to see what they look like over here in Texas, you know, compare what we have here with your Italian Job"!

You've done well!

Default "The Texas Coupe" (continued)

Deuce 2000,

Getting back to you about some items and some questions:

I noticed your High Beams look different than mine! My Car came with Halogen High Beams, which were a very poor choice since the Low Beams are HID. I replaced them with a LED Kit from CARiD and now I have super Lights at night! Great for driving on the Freeway or anywhere at night....After replacing the original HID Bulbs with new ones and adjusting the Headlights themselves....What type of High Beams came in your Jag or have you replaced them also?

Just finishing up after a long day in Texas!

Billy Clyde

You are thinking of the Barcelona Pavilion. 1929 by Mies van Der Rohe. It is reminiscent of that, but this is the Rosen House 1961 in L.A.

And if this is “container living” I’ll take it!

Monsta - Nice looking XK8! I have a 1998 XK8 with only 35,000 miles on it and this year I took the plunge and replaced both primary and secondary timing plastic tensioners and guides. I’m glad I did, because I was driving a time bomb. Just thought I mention this, because I see your new to this forum and that was the way I learned not to wait on replacing these parts. Welcome to the forum!!!

Long Story, but basically, I initially had it done at a repair shop near me and when he told me he didn’t replace the timing chains and didn’t percent me the old plastic secondary tensioners, I went into the engine myself and replaced all the parts that he didn’t change. <grin> So, basically, I payed to have it done, but wound up doing the job myself in the end. But you lucked out with a 2005 XK8; you don’t need to replace the timing parts that I had to replace.

Boy, is that a bummer! I had a 2000 XKR with 98,000 mi. that I traded for this 2005 in September. Besides the other things that needed to be done, which were a lot, that was a MAJOR reason that I traded up. I had bad motor mounts, electronic shocks with bad bushings (and 98.00 mi), concern for the Nikoseal (sp?) engine. This car is really nice and it is getting more civilized every day as I work to that end. Oh, yes, it has the compass in the mirror! :-) That was worth the price of admission alone!!!

Side note; Can you explain how I add the picture of my car from my photo library to my signature as you have done?
Tom :-)

Tom- Good luck with ur new XKR!!! Now to the Signature Picture - When logged into this forum, look on the top main menu, which is located below the, ‘Welcome, ThomasL’, logged in name box, and on the left side u will see the first menu-item named, ‘User CP’. Select it and than look down the displayed menu-items, and when u see menu-item called, ‘Edit Signature’, which is in the Setting and Options section, select it. This will bring u to the ‘Edit Signature’ box, where u can enter/edit your signature -cars u own and/or owned with mileage and other details respectively; and the Signature Picture box, where u can add a picture of a car to go along with ur signature. Hope this helps! :-)

Tom, (While I was writing this message, Aleather apparently answered your question concerning how to add a photo of you car,,,,Sorry for the duplication)

I don't see where anyone has answered your question about how to add a picture of your car to your Avator or Signature, so here you go......

"Go to 'User CP' first, its located in the Black Line at the top of the page and click...Then Click on "Edit Avator" ........After that go to Edit Signature to place another Photo at the end of your message.... It should turn-out as mine does on this message.

Right now I am struggling with reducing the picture pixels which apparently is why the picture didn't load a week ago when I tried it. I have done as you said but found that my picture is way too large to use. Tom :-) Thanks, I'll figure it out!
