The Texas Coupe is Showing Off Again!
ThomasL & JRabbit,
I don't remember if I've sent Photos of the Coupe with the new XKR-100 Front Emblem....I had been searching for it for over 2 years and finally found this one in Scotland this past Summer! They also had matching Tread-Plates that have "XKR" with "Racing Flags" on each side in white.
Back in 2001 Jaguar's SVO Team released their own enhanced version of the XKR and called it the XKR-100, this was to celebrate the 100th Birthday of William Lyons, Jaguar's Founder Member! This XKR came equipped with the "R" option package which included up rated Wheels, brakes and suspension. A limited run of 500 XKR-100's both Coupes and Convertibles were produced at that time. I really like the Front Emblem as it is White with Red Lettering and Silver Growler! I think it's pretty unique and I've had several really nice comments on it!
Enjoy all you XKR Lovers!

Very lucky to find an X100 badge.
Those treadplate inserts are Victory Edition/4.2-S Final Series. X100 had this special pattern
Even harder to find than the badge.

I had no idea if the Tread Plates I got were correct as I knew they were V/E's as I saw a set of those before but I am still happy to get these.....as I have V/E Tail Lights with LED Bulbs already.....Got that information from CCFulton.......and they are Beautiful!!!!
Now that I know what the XKR-100 Plates look like, I'll start another search tonight! Have any ideas where I could start looking? I don't know where Jaguar concentrated their sells of the XKR-100.......England? or did they just mix it up.....any place to find that info?
Actually the design is pretty simple...someone should know how to make-up several sets of them without much trouble....Just have to have the right equipment......Anybody in to this sort of etching or machining?

Searching for the P/N HXG6034AA:
Jaguar Classic Parts (a division of JLR)
www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk/part/HXG6034AA
ebay
www.ebay.com/itm/JAGUAR-Genuine-OEM-TREADPLATE-HXG6034AA-/162539759736?hash=item25d81fe878
Terry's Jaguar Parts
www.terrysjag.com/product/HXG6034AA.html
Even though these are listing the correct X100 P/N, check first because the vendors may think all tread plate inserts are the same. I'd hope Jaguar Classic Parts know!
Jaguar rarely release sales figures for special editions by market but the US buyers favour them more than other World markets so reasonable to assume the majority will be there.

All types of Tread Plates out there!
Graham and Mr. Rabbit,
I ordered a set of XKR - 100 Tread Plates from eBay for about $50. Bucks a pair. Also looked at Terry's Jagparts and he has a set for about $70. Bucks but he also has a set of the Base Plates that screw to the Threshold in Black anodized that you insert the Silver XKR -- 100 Tread Plates on to. Now that might be good looking on a Black XKR....Like JRabbit's!!!
Graham, have you noticed how shiny JRabbit's XKR has gotten? Looks like someone has told him about "Best of Show" wax! Now the "Turismo Sport" is beginning to really look good! Guess I'll have to buy me some of that stuff!

I think it has started snowing out here, but i appreciate your comments just the same. The car still has the delivery wax job from when the dealer in Boerne (Mark Motors) sold it to me in August. I wiped it down with Mequiar's Quick Detailer for Black Cars after our rain episode last month, but mostly i just drive it fast enough that the dirt flies off. Car threw a new code at me yesterday--either there is a pregnant ride-along or the airbag is trying to tell me something is amiss. Warning was intermittent at first, then continuous. On the bright side, the pregnant lady may have shut off the "check rear lights" code. For a very low mileage 2006 (now @33k), there sure seems to be allot of gremlins hiding in there. Internet purchase. No buyer's remorse yet, but if i had driven it first, I think that I would have passed. Still a good ride for the $$
.

Does it get you where you want to go? and is it a Mercedes? Thank Heaven it's not one of those......and Man, I didn't know you found such a deal on the Car....a 2006 XKR Coupe with only 33,000 miles? In 2017? That alone is amazing!! You are a Lucky Guy......

Sometime you just have to go to the Dealer!
BC-Thanks for the pep talk. I agree with you on all counts, we are lucky to be owner-drivers of last gen black coupes and since I only paid a hair over 21k for mine last Summer there is room to pay someone to fix some of the nits without going too negative. Besides, the A/C works, radio works, windows go up and down, and it goes like stink. All good. I just wish i could get that pregnant lady to jump out. I will see if she is still there tomorrow.
I have a friend (Service Writer) here in Houston that works for a Dealer.....He told me not to come there for basic service but if I had trouble with the Lights poping-on....bring it in as most people don't have or can afford the Jaguar Computer System that reads those lights.....So as he said, take it in and spend some money to have it tracked down and fixed once and for all! Sounds to me that you need to do just that!
Man what a deal! 2006 XKR Coupe with only 33,000 miles for $21,000.00 -Sweet- But Gee Gosh! It's Ebony....What more could a young Man want?
While you have it at the Dealer, have the Service Writer run a Computer Print-out of your XKR....He can get all the History on it back to who and where it was bought new...plus what work Jaguar has done to it!

Graham's 4.2-S XK8
Graham, Frog's XKR had Ivory interior...What color was your interior as I can't make it out? Also, it's none of my business but why would you sell a XK8 that is so absolutely beautiful?
Sorry, but those (2) XK's are about as pretty as 2 Cars can get.....

Bill,
Both cars were Frost Blue paint with Ivory interior. Frog's XKR had Recarro seats and my XK8 had soft leather Classic seats. Both had Sepang split rim alloys.
Although we haven't seen the new owner of Frog's XKR, mine turned up again in November 2016 for sale at a dealer in Southampton on the south coast of England.
Still looking very good after eleven years.
I sold it because I wanted an XK and didn't need two Jaguars plus my other car.

Neither a stupid question nor did I take any offence at it being asked.
I'm often surprised when I see the number of vehicles some US and Canadian members own. It's a different mindset to buy a new vehicle and keep the old one. We don't generally do that in the UK.
I only wish I had the space (and the money) to have kept all mine going back to an E-Type forty seven years ago. Some superb cars come and gone in that time.
I've had a lot of fun across England, France, Spain and Italy in the last three alone:
A 2001 XK8, 2005 XK8 and 2007 XK. These really are wonderful cars for high speed Continental touring.
