This morning I received (1) Correct XKR---100 Thread plate....I thought I had ordered (1) pair but after calling Engel Imports in Kalamazoo, the Parts Guy sez no! If you wanted (2) you should have ordered (2) not (1)............I guess that is what I get for using eBay....Anyway, I ordered the other one as the (1) I did receive is genuine Jaguar and you can tell by the plastic wrapper that it was wrapped back in 2001 or 2002. The wrapping plastic is yellowed.....Has the Jaguar Part sticker on it and the number xHXG 6034 AA....
Thank you so much for the information about where I could get these! I think they are really great looking. The color, although it looks Black in the Photo you sent me is really the same off-White that is on the V/E Plates...
..... I wiped it down with Mequiar's Quick Detailer for Black Cars after our rain episode last month, but mostly i just drive it fast enough that the dirt flies off. .....
Missed that one on my last read through of the thread.
Looking forward to reading the court report when your speeding charges come up!
Hopefully, I can send that Photo of the Wind Deflector on this Thread..

Wind Deflector fits in front of the front wheel somehow?
BC, I think the deflector in the picture is correct for the earlier XK before they lowered the nose. It looks like half of the deflector on my 2001--which is one piece. In the earlier version, there is an 8 inch open space between the trailing edge of the nose and the forward edge of the deflector plate and the oil cooler is exposed in the gap. i think the cooling air is supposed to come up through the gap. In the 2006, the forward edge of the deflector/ pan is screwed directly into the nose and there is no gap. The oil cooler is completely enclosed in the boxed area. All air for the oil cooler comes from the grille. I noticed that there is no X-Brace in the 2006 and there is one in the 2001--hmmm. Also the 2006 is missing the coverplate in left wheel well which protects the headlight space from road splash. hmmm. As soon as the phone finishes loading pics to the computer, i will send.
J....The X-Brace is on the Convertible only to strengthen the Body...Remember it has no Metal-Top like the Coupe.....Maybe the new Nose Piece only has the
Deflector Plate and not the Wind Deflectors as the Nose Piece is much larger than the Older XK's and has the 2nd Grill down there! If that's the case, I have a couple Wind Defectors to send back to JagBits.....
Unfortunately, I have an extra cover for the Right-side but not the left. as my left-side cover came loose and the Tire chewed it up. I ordered those covers from JagBits....but be sure you order the little wing nut thing that holds it to the Fender Well.....That's a separate Order!
Thanks!

Here is a better picture. Not enough room to get whole thing in frame. Nose looks pretty ragged, but the deflector is D shaped with a solid vented center. It attaches to the front cross member and extends to the bottom of the nose. The 2001 is more C shaped and attaches to the front cross member and then to the corners of the nose. Space in the center is open. Thanks for tip on the X brace, will not look for one in the wrecking yard.
Access Panel Cover for your Left Front Wheel well...
JRabbit,
Here's where you can find the Access Panel for your Left Fender Well!

HEADLAMP ACCESS PANEL IN FENDER WELL, LEFT SIDE, FITS 1997-2006 XK8. FASTENER CLIP IS PART NUMBER KTF100003 and is extra!!!!
I finished the repair job on the Nose Piece Saturday, after I gave up trying to stick those Wind Deflects on somewhere under there....Because the Big Deflector had been missing so long, something had hit the Oil Cooler and the Power Steering Hose, so before I could replace the Big Deflector, I had to buy those parts new.....I'm fortunate that my Friend has a Lift at his Shop and will let me use it.......Saturday only! There I was under Sweet Sugar from 9AM til a little after 4.....At least it was raining outside, so that gave me something to do! The parts for that little job were close to $1,000.00 smackers...Bucks...whatever you want to call them.....I let him change the Oil and filter, while I ate a Sandwich............We tried to put those Wind Deflectors on every which away and finally just gave up!
These Parts People think a lot of their Parts....Can you imagine the big piece of Plastic underneath there costing $380.00? and the Oil Cooler was $400 something.....Last week, the Fuel Pump was free, but I paid around $650.00 for the one we replaced, this past October.......I'm not going to tell you how much that Electronic switch Box in the Boot cost as you will really be down again, even though I paid for it! But Life is good and I am happy with the way it runs and here I am making plans for my next project......Reworking the Exhaust Manifolds.....I already have XJR Exhaust Manifolds and have changed the Cat-Converters and the way the exhaust runs from the Engine to the front Muffler. But this time I'm going to have another set of XJR exhaust manifolds ported out and Ceramic Coated inside and out and I'm having a new Down-Pipe made for each side that I hope will assist with a little vacuum pull before the exhaust gets to the Cat-Converters....In other words, a poor-man's set of Headers......I'm going to Flow-bench it and everything.....At this point, no one makes a reasonably priced set of Headers for our cars...So I'm going to try this.....with hopes of success!
Thanks for helping out and getting under the Black Beauty for me!
I appreciate you for it!
I'm sore as Hell today!

We took the Jag for a nice ride up the coastal access road by Mondos with the top down.
First ride in the car for Ozzy (new dog). He loved it.

Hi all, love this thread. I've been admiring it for years and now I can contribute to it.
I present my newly-acquired 2000 XK8 in British Racing Green. I love the E-Type cues throughout the car, especially looking over the large front guards, and I love the timber trim. My brother and I have spent around 60 hours on the paintwork so far, and we took it out to the Hunter Valley (wine country 2 hours north of Sydney) for some photos which I hope you enjoy. The number plate is not supposed to be a palindrome, but rather a celebration of the XK name.

Thanks Billy,
Bought it yesterday. Every once in a while you get in the right place at the right time. Almost missed it, did a 180 back to it. Inspected it, saw interior and heard engine had to have it. When to guy produced service records I almost fell down. Guy moving back to Germany. Here is best part $7.5K I think I got a heck of a deal. This will be classic in 5 years.
