My new Passenger Side Mat

2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe - Ebony/Ivory

Hey Guys!

Wow! That little photo of the new Front Mat really got things going! I've never seen a Photo of JRabbit's Silver Vert and had no idea that your were going to this kind of Car Show...You should be proud to have scored so High! If you had used some Masking Tape and wrapped it around your hand, you could have gotten all that grass out of your Carpet....Sounds like you learned a few new tricks on Judging....You will do better in the October Meet! I really wish I could be there, as that would be a bunch of fun but I'm still doing my day Job Maybe I can do things like that when I retire.....Wouldn't that be a Heck of a show with both of those Texas Beauties setting side by side? WOW!

I'm going to attach another Photo of my new Mats, this one the Right side and hopefully the email address for DCR Parts in Scotland. I bought several things from Dave and never had a problem.....He has some pretty neat stuff! You and "BK" should make friends with him!

Dang it Billy Clyde, I'm ashamed to admit I have mat envy, thanks, as I understand Dave Roche has quality stuff!

Cheers,

BK,

I've bought several items from Dave and had nothing but pure satisfaction....He found the XKR - 100 Front emblem for me and I had looked all over for it.....My XKR - 100 Tread Plates came from Jerry's in Kalamazoo and my Victory Edition Tail lights came from Dave.....plus several other items such as: Lug Nuts and Locks for the "Montreal's"'.....Just about everything you could want comes from those two sources and Jagbits…..

Billy Clyde!..

diameter is a little small, we'll see how it goes
Yes toaster, I admitted when I mounted them they were slightly short, 255/35-18 front, 275/35-18 rear Vredestein Sessanta's, left overs from another project, but brand new, so I thought, what the heck, they'll probably wear quickly anyway, so kids, don't try this at home! I realize diameter is smaller, but I will replace them with more appropriate sizes next spring. These short sidewalls on my 18" double fives, exacerbated by lowering springs and powerflex bushes definitely ride a little harsher, but, they're sticky, in the wet they're faultless, and Jeez, it handles like crazy! No harm no foul, sometimes ya just gotta play!

BK,

I can't remember if the Double 5's are staggered or not?.....It has been a long time since I had the 2000 XKR Coupe...I do remember that they used to drag on the Plastic Fender Wells when I hit one of those swooping bumps in the Road...!

Yes BC, the Double 5's are staggered, even though the Vred's are wider than stock, there has been no clearance or rubbing issues, I'm sure because of the low aspect ratio. I knew there was the possibility of them being problematic when I installed them, especially with my Xkr being lowered, but tires are replaceable, and dang it, I just wanted to see what they were capable of, If they become an issue, believe me, they'll be gone!

One of my favorite colors, great looking car!
I'd say enjoy but since you've already driven it 8K miles I'm sure you are enjoyng...

btw, if you find a good mounting location for the V1, please post it (or message me), mine is sitting on a bench and I (semi) rely on my battery powered passport but would feel more secure with the valentine.

yes, I've gotten lazy with the V-1. I really should have it on the drivers visor, and have the power hard wired. Maybe I'll combine that chore with a needed bulb replacement @ the tach location.

have been down your way to Austin TX ( my res. '93-'2012 ) twice so far for Dr.'s visit. About 1,100 miles round trip. Hard to make myself stay on the cruise control. . . and also been taking it out at least twice weekly on day trips to SE Oklahoma, western Arkansas, and southern Kansas... My SO calls it "the blue cloud".

Thanks !!! Every time I got it reasonably clean, it would rain and for a daily driver, that certainly puts a damper on the shine.

i keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, maintenance-wise. Previous owners have done the heavy lifting re new water pump, cam chain tensioners, shocks, etc.

on my short watch, A new battery, front rotors / pads, and tires are all I've put into it. The ride is darn smooth on good roads, and only a midsize pothole gives me any indication that it's time to look at the shock mount bushings, etc. Hope to get to ATL and back in Sept. for daughters wedding before any surgery (on the car that is).

Coming along nicely. Although you will find those road rash spots hard to remove. I had to lightly spray mine then polish off the access. Although you could try a very fine paint brush, a steady hand and a lot of patience. Good job anyway keep it up. Nice to see these cars being nicely looked after.

By the way I am in no way knocking your efforts. I have been there done that so to speak. This is how I tackled my nose cone. https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthre...l=1#post776597

As a new member I had to join in on this thread and share my jag!
I'll have to share some of the professional photos I've taken with it as a backdrop on fashion shoots!
In the meantime here's one from this morning taken on my phone!

Beautiful car with perfect color combination, but i think you may have the Kart Boys at a bit of a horsepower disadvantage.
