I called and the guy said that the computer just defaults to 5w-20 for the partial synthetic oil change and that he told the tech (which who knows) and that they go by what is on the oil cap on the engine anyway. There is no specified weight of oil on the cap on the XK8. I am calling the manager tomorrow.
Sam I thought the same thing with the Florida summer and thinner oil.

I know it's too late now, but I always change my own oil, I never trust these places to do it right. While underneath, I then spray rubber preservative on all boots and bushings and armor all on everything else. I look for leaks and damage while there as well. I also wipe everything down so that leaks show up better. I have never had to replace any rubber parts under any of my cars and it always loos like new under them. I just like that....sigh. I am an ex-pro tech and at my shop, the guys changing oil also kept the floors and toilets clean and that was their main job.
