Default X100 Oil leaking from the torque convertor housing

Got oil leaking from the torque convertor through the lower access hole.
Assume the rear crankshaft oil seal or input shaft oil seal to the gearbox.
Cars a 1996 model with circa 80,000 miles and due an oil engine oil change.
Gearbox oil was changed circa 1,000 miles ago.
Any pointers or advise.
Assume this is a gearbox off job to fix, difficult or straight forward ?

Transmission removal not particularly difficult, but you need a lot of ground clearance. Having a lift available makes it pretty easy. This would be a good time to replace the transmission A drum and pressure valve.

Not a hard job but it is time consuming. Decouple the driveshaft. Transmission cooler lines, shifter, and electrical connector off. Drop exhaust. Unbolt the transmission and remove. The Main rear seal looks like this.

Transmission out

A Drum replacement

Rear Main Seal
