Default XK Automatic Transmission Maintenance

A major overhaul of my 2003 XK8's AT set me back 5 grand. I am very meticulous with scheduled maintenance for the car, but there is no maintenance recommended for the AT in the owner's manual, and the shop that did the overhaul claims that Jaguar does not have a schedule for AT maintenance for this vehicle. Should I plan to have the transmission fluid changed on a regular basis anyway to avoid future costly repairs? If yes, does anyone have a recommendation on mileage/time intervals for fluid change? Thanks.

Supposed sealed for life. I don't buy it. I've got 10900 and I'm doing mine soon. Not a daily driver. I've seen videos and it's a PITA for sure.

Fluid change every 60k miles is the recommendation.

The problem I have with any sealed for life or maintenance free car parts is that your definition of lifetime and the manufacturers version of lifetime are not the same!

I do transmission fluid changes every 30k on my cars, but 60k is just fine on most. I drive my car hard, and often meet the conditions of a service vehicle because of idling, driving slow, etc; so I like to maintain it like a taxi or service vehicle.

When I said 60k, I was meaning fluid and filter.

sealed for life - yeah right!!!!! as 80sRule mentioned - is that users lifetime or manufacturer's? I believe ZF has recently recommended 60k as a service interval.

I should clarify, always change the filter and pan gasket when doing the change. That's easy stuff while you're there and dumb not to do.
