Since we're all bonding I'll pitch in...60 this Nov. (slight uptick in average age) and retiring tomorrow. Have a new to us 40' Albin trawler that we'll roam around on, and a condo in Daytone Beach to get away from the ice this winter. Will be shipping the Jag down this fall for a winter of top down on the beach. My history is 69 XKE roadster (threw a rod @ 110mph after oil pressure loss) and 70 XJ6 SWB that died a more natural death. Loved them both, got married,3 kids, blah blah blah and full circle, back to a Jag roadster. Still like fixing stuff which explains the boat and the car.
Anyway a toast to you all

Hmmm. Could you be referring to the M-21, the only remaining one of which is on display at our Museum of Flight in Seattle along with its D-21 drone? That is still a military application, though. Or maybe the YC-12A that NASA had??? (I have to admit, I had to do some online research to find out about the YC-12A).
By the way, BIG THANKS to loveatfirstsight for starting this thread. We've gone down a few rabbit trails, but we've learned a lot about each other here.

No, the M-21 was a drone that was a big mistake. Refer to my answer to Rev Sam, the post 2 above your last one.
Sorry I got us off subject.

42 Currently, been driving the XK8 for 3 years.
However, my dad taught me to drive when I was 13 in his 83 XJS, and when I got my license at 16 that was the car I drove for awhile.
My Dad is 69 and just replaced his 03 xk8 he's been driving for the past 5 years for an 07 XK.
My dad had the 83 xjs (new), 86 xjs (new), 89 XJS (new), mom had 92 xjs (new).
So a few weeks ago when visiting the folks the driveway had a black 03 xk8, copper black 06 xk8 and black on black 07 xk.
Now, the parentals are taking delivery of an 2011 XJL in 2 weeks. So when I visit the folks its still a 3 jag driveway

Cat on the beach!
I'm 62 and have been to Daytona about a dozen or so times in my life, but have never driven on the beach until last month. Now having the cat on a road trip through Daytona, I just had to drop the top and do it. Below is a pic on Daytona Beach.

I will be 63 on July 20.
Bought a 1999 XK8 coupe in 2003 (since totaled) and a 2000 XK8 convertible last June. No airplanes, but I'll be that, relatively speaking, I have the youngest kids compared to my age. My daughter is 11 and my son will be 8 the day before my 63rd birthday next month.
I married well: my wife is 18 years younger then I. She claims the XK8 as hers, but I drive it nearly every day while she has to use the Acura MDX "mom-mobile" to ferry the kids around.
I don't ride my motos much anymore. Anyone in the market for a BMW moto? I will guarantee a screaming good time at 130 mph+.
Also, BIG PROPS to EZdriver. You are my new role model.

Ok guys and gals. Guess it's time to step in. Age 76. Have owned three Jags. First was 1959 XK150S Drop Head coupe. Did all engine and transmission overhaul then lost my mind and sold it before finishing restoration. Presently own a 1995 XJ6 for 9 years. 2000 XK8 for one year. 1980 Suzuki GS1000G for 31 years. 1929 Model A Ford special coupe. Ten year restoration finished 1976. Long EZ aircraft. Ten years to build finished 1994.
Guess that sums it up except for the fact I'm probaby the fastest one in the group. Mach 3.3, 86,000 feet.

SR71?
61 here. It's my wifes', not mine. I made my wife retire from riding her Harley after she crashed it last year at Sturgis (at 65mph). She's always wanted a Jag so it took the sting away of grounding her from her bike.

51 here. Bought the '02 XK8 (anthracite with charcoal leather) last year at 50. NEVER imagined owning a Jag as I am not from a car family culture but I was ready to spoil myself. It caught my eye and I was SOLD. It is a thrill to drive every time I get behind the wheel.
Drove it all last summer without any problems but have truly fallen in love with the beast now that I am learning to do some repairs. I have MS and drive left footed as my right leg is shot. Couldn't run ten feet if a grizzly was after me...but watch out for the Bad Kitty...she's my alter ego
