XK Owners and Jeep Cherokee Owners
I've noticed quite a few people in here also own Cherokees. So speak up if your XJ is a Jeep and not a Jag
Mine is an '87 Cherokee Laredo with the 4.0 I6 and the semi-rare NP242 transfer case. It's pretty sound mechanically (although it does leak some oil) and I've slowly been fixing it up cosmetically, but it is just my winter beater (need some 4x4 to get through some of the places I need to go) and its great for hauling stuff. I attached a picture that doesn't show much, but it hides most of the cosmetic flaws

I've also noticed that many forum members also own Jeeps. Interesting, and I'm no different, although mine are ZJs (Grand Cherokee) and a TJ (Wrangler). We used to live in Michigan, and there is nothing better for snow. We've also taken all of them off-road in the mountains out west & east, and you wouldn't believe how capable even the Grand Cherokee is; I've climbed over obastacles that even some highly-modified Wranglers couldn't manage!
The picture is our Jeep fleet, taken a couple years back at Christmas.

Hmm, owning vehicles that start with a 'J'. Mine is a '99 GC Ltd and has been flawless except for those garbage OEM rotors. I have never experienced brake issues on any car I've owned for decades but this Jeep went through 5 sets of front rotors under warranty. Once that expired, I flipped them out and have not had a problem since. My Jeep has seen 13 Canadian prairie winters and is still in immaculate condition!

Yep, it must be something about vehicles that start with a 'J' ! I've got a Jeep TJ Sport that does the winter thing beautifully, although it is a lot of fun in the summer as well. It is a truly "year 'round" vehicle, and keeps the Jags outof the snow and salt. Thank God it's nearly bullet-proof though, as parts prices would make Jag blush! (see my "Rant" in the X-Type forum today)
